Yep, exactly that: Maximum allowed backpressure.

Are you going to get yours set to 500 by an ecu update?

I got some similar figures to yourself once the regens had been done. Didn't cost me anything either as my guy at autologic hessle said I spend enough with them to warrant a freebie

i had a 320d Tourer DPF and Cat removed and a remap. the standard figure were 179bhp standard and after the work the rolling road showed 225bhp.....
The car had 104k on the clock and the transformation is remarkable. the car drives as normal but when you put your foot down it bloody shifts. the car felt so sluggish before and now its come to life.

on the down side, there is a slight puff of black smoke behind the car on hard acceleration and a bit of a smell when its ticking over on the drive, but other than that i dont really see and down sides.

hope this info helps anyone looking to do this mod

I am looking at getting a dpf delete and remap in the next week or so. In northern ireland so guys with the best reputation locally are obd autotune who will physically remove dpf, keep the same pipe and remap the car to delete the dpf and increase power for £360 all in. Said they can do a gain of anything from 40-80 bhp depending on what i fancy.

Just recently bought a 325d m sport and the uy i bought it from had the dpf regened a few months back but the warning is still coming up about 10 minutes after i start driving the car. Just going to get the delete for peace of mind.

Sorry - been away and missed your question. Given I am well away from approaching the standard max back pressure I am going to leave alone at the moment. This weekends job is to replace a glowplug and check the cause of an oil leak on the RHS of the manifold.

Well, had it remapped again and I thought all was well.......

But alas, after a few days engine power dropped off after 3k revs and now the dpf light is back on.

So, I'm wondering what todo now. Do I use these guys http://www.dpfcleanteam.co.uk/page2.html, it's £400+ for those guys to remove, clean and refit. Or do I buy a new one from ebay for £740 and another £200 to get it fitted.....

Something's buggin me though. All my dpf issues happened after my indy removed my swirl flaps, fitting 6 new glow plugs and control module. Even after the forced dpf regen, it would still need to regen every 80mls, rather than the 300mls I was used to.

I don't want to buy a new dpf/get old one cleaned, only for an engine issue to clog it up again.

Anyone used http://www.dpfcleanteam.co.uk/page2.html and have any feedback. Only example I can find is this, see the posts from "Leeandzed":

http://www.bmwland.co.uk/forums/view...17300&start=40

DPF removal isn't an option, before anyone suggests......

IHMO www.dpfcleaning.co.uk/‎ www.dpfcleanteam.co.uk/‎ www.dpfcleaningsolutions.com/ are one and the same and there aren't that many reviews out there .. none of them are any good.

DPF removal not an option .. kinda doesnt leave you with much. Maybe a second hand one from a scrapper as a bit of a gamble... or a new one one.

Most of these cleaning places are geared up for the cannister type DPF. These non symmetrical ones are a lot harder to find machinery that can take them.

Dpfcleanteam say they can clean it no probs for 240quid. But with only 6mths warranty its not really value for money considering the 200 quid in labour to take the dpf off the car and put it back on

Slightly off-topic - What's a perfectly good, working used DPF worth? I'll be removing mine soon.

Hmmm, dilema time.

My Indy near Hull says my dpf needs a full clean out which he can do for £350+Vat. This involves:

"We have the specialist equipment to inject the cleaner into the DPF filter through the nitro sensor.
Then we inject the regeneration fluid.
There are no guarantee with this operation but we have not had one car that hasn't cleaned and regenerated. "

I could take my car to www.dpfcleanteam.co.uk and they remove the dpf and clean it for £440 inc vat. This comes with a 6 month warrranty.

I could by an aftermarket dpf from:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BMW-335d-3...item232d066808

and have it fitted, but that's £970 all in. It says they have a 2yr warranty but I've spoken to the manufacturer who say no dpf has a warranty for the internal parts, only the external part is covered. They can't account for engine usage/conditions etc.

I can see why some of you guys just want to get rid of it, but I can't bring myself todo it.

Do you know your EGR is healthy? I can well imagine a malfunctioning EGR valve would cause problems with regens.

What led you to remove the swirl flaps? I can't see how they'd be related, but I don't recall hearing about any failures of these on the 35d engine - I think there's a lot of unfounded scaremongering going around out there...

How Do Sean,

I needed to have my glowplugs done as they nearly went on my during winter. As the mechanic was in the manifold as part of this, doing the swirl flaps was relatively low cost. Also, I was trying to cure a slight flat spot in my car at 2.8k to 3.3k rev's. They thought doing this and a new air filter (that would shortly be due) might help. Also the EGR clean.

The condition of the swirl flaps looked fine really, no pieces of metal about to come off. Its now got a rubber coating which seems to keep it all together. I wouldn't say it needed doing in all honesty....

I have cleaned a dpf with success. I had my machanic remove and refit th dpf for £50 I cleaned it my self by jet washing it 4 times and leaving traffic film remover in it overnight worked ok for 3 months then sold the car. Bet its still going strong.Shame your not near Leicester I could have sent my machanic to you.

Didn't get fitted, they wanted to check for sources of oil contamination. Good news is my turbos are good, bad news is I must wait even longer for a fitting....sigh

Well, had it fitted, dpf is still regening ever 60miles which is a major bummer. Was thinking maybe faulty backpressure sensor. I'm still not 100% that having my swirl flaps replaced isn't causing the issue. I'm pretty fed up with it, can see why people just remove it. But, I've parted with a grand so far, no turning back now......

On the plus side, my new remap is awesome. It feels even quicker than the last one.
