SWS8 Spacers
I have just tried to fit them in a UK 2004 E60. They dont fit. And the basket seems a slight different shape. I tried them in a 1 series basket and they fit perfectly. If anyone in the UK with a 1 series is interested, PM me.

Wanted to add my appreciation of the SWS spacers, it really makes installation a snap. They definitely do what it says on the tin.
My only (minor) gripe is that they should probably come with longer screws. No biggie, I'll just buy some.

Just received my set of spacers from jtsherri and let me tell you I'm very impressed. It's a precision cut piece made out of quality plastic. Back in mid 2008, I posted up a PDF of the spacers to try to help anyone trying to make these. The process of cutting the spacers is a very tedious one because you are working with thin material and the width of of some of the cuts is easy to break the spacer. I previously made mine out of 1/4" MDF and I'm going to remove the speakers again and install these higher quality spacers.
I'm so happy someone came out with a solution for this. It's much needed as the SWS speaker upgrade is the easiest and most popular option for our cars. As a seller, his communication was great and he ships fast. THANKS!!!

Sorry, didn't get around to installing these for a while. The fitment was perfect. the spacer themselves fit fine the only issue I ran into was one screw for the grills on both side were not threading in correctly or I should rephrase to, the screws were barley grabbing onto the base. this was only apparent on the one screws towards the outside by the door on both sides. I just went into my garage and found a pair that were a bit longer and I was done. besides that the fitment was spot on with my sws8xi subs. Car sounds great with the new subs too, hits really nice.
Thanks, Jorge |

Ordered them on Monday, got them today (Thursday). Obviously fast service. Product looks like it's from a factory. It will be a week or so before I can get them installed, but they look like the perfect solution. THANKS JTSHERRI!

earthquake sws-8 xi
Hi,
Excuse for my English because i'm French. I would like to buy earthquake sws-8 xi (2 ohms) to replace the OEM subwoofer under the seats of my bmw e60. I have a HI-FI system and i found that my amplifier work under 2 ohms (cf: http://www.1erforum.de/hifi-navi/alp...etc-32408.html). Really needs it that add a new amp for feed earthquake? Thanks for your answers |

This Correct?
Is this the correct fit for the grill cover?
Does the spacer go above or below the carpet? There is about a 1/2 inch space between the spacer and the grill. I suspect I need to drill the holes out for the screws, to allow the spacer to sit flush with the grill? |

Ill get working on it!
I see that some people have had issues with these spacers fitting particular vehicles, Are there any reasons that these wont fit my late 2005 E60 with standard audio? is it model year or more vehicle specific? Thanks for any help Paul |
