Any issues with buying a used Cobb AP V3?

Does anyone have any advice on buying a used Cobb AP V3? Will I get any support from Cobb? If my DME or ROM (not sure if i'm using the right terminology there) isn't supported will I still be able to get an update from Cobb? Basically, is it worth saving a bit of money or would I be better off getting a brand new one for peace of mind?

I'd ask Cobb if your car is supported first. If it is then its a no brainer.

It's not a problem. I bought my V2 used and when my 08 335 was totaled, I could not unmarry. I sent them the insurance invoice and they reset it for me for a nominal fee. If you buy one married and get screwed, it will cost you.

Cobb is very fair and reasonable.

I know my model year and engine are supported but I don't know if my ROM or DME is supported. From what I've read, you can't really know until you try the Cobb? Or can Cobb tell if I send them the VIN?

Thanks for the reply. That was my other worry, that if I buy a used one it will come still married to the previous car. I don't know if there is a way to guarantee that it will come unmarried. Other than shaming the seller on here if they are a member haha.
