I don't think it is, although I wish that isn't true. The 335i's and 335d's seem to have a different transmission code, although I could be wrong (I hope I am in this case). I would like to do the Alpina B3 code.

The guy that did my coding confirmed that the Alpina flash will not work on the 335d.
It's so good though!

Looking at the specs from ZF, it looks like the rest of the tranny is the same.... Actually I just found proof that the gear ratio is the same on both trannys. https://www.dropbox.com/s/1m8y5ozkxn...21_Catalog.pdf https://www.dropbox.com/s/stnvbcjv62...on%206HP28.pdf

the second link is for a 6hp28, not 6hp26, and it shows a max input tq of 442 lb-ft.
I believe that the ratios are the same, but the transmission internals are different. The diff ratio is different also which would affect shift points. I wouldnt want to load a transmission map for a car with a 7k rpm redline into my car with 5k rpm redline |

Found another PDF with both hp26 and hp28
Same ratio.... https://www.dropbox.com/s/8ycq174bxu...28_Catalog.pdf and as far as I can see only 4 internal parts differs from 26 to 28(chart on page 31 and 32) And of course the torque converter differs. So basically the same tranny..... But of course as you wrote the diff is different....

How about the Alpina D3 AT transmission then? With the B3 flash I'd think that the rev limits and torque curves, if the have effect, would be completely wrong.

Just flashed a local member's 335i with the B3 flash tonight and i got thinking about this. Didn't Alpina make a B5 which used the 6HP26? I started looking through the daten for an E60 and saw a few references.
If anyone could get their hands on a B5 and get the necessary info, we could probably just use that flash in the 335d. From what I can see by viewing the flash files, GKE195 is for the 6HP26TU. If I had my car here with me I would just read it myself to find out. It would help to find out exactly which flash(es) may have been used for the B5. If anyone has a DCAN cable + WinKFP and would like to push this theory along, could you read the UIF for GKE195 and post up the flash history? Otherwise I will look into this further on Monday when I get my car back. This is all purely hypothetical, but i would love to see it happen.

Getting closer... found this while looking in the E60 daten for the B5 flash.. This is one of the programs for the 6HP26TU.

Change of plans. After consideration of how the B5 program may be configured, I'm going the E60 Sport AT route. It sounds like the exact same thing, just not branded Alpina. Also it was available for diesels so it won't expect to shift at 6k
Car is still at the dealer awaiting an SCR pump, so i haven't made much other progress.

i hv a friend that deals in europe and he has a 525d and he told me we both have the same tranny, he was able to install the Alpina Flash on his car and is going to install on my car later on, it can and will work according to him but until I have it on my hands I cannot vouch for it.

Axel,
Can you see if he is able to read the UIF for his transmission? If so we can use a similar process to the 335i's for their Alpina flash. I'm itching to get mine back just so I can read that number and make progress on this.

I've got a cable and a computer. Tell me what I'm looking for and how to get to it and I'll report back. I too would like the alpina flash to my transmission.
