Any meets in LA next week?! Going to be in LA/SD this June and it'd be cool to check out a meet/C&C!

If anyone wants my damaged driver's side LCI E90 taillight to mess with before you try to fix the LED array turn signal then you can have it. Also have a belt tensioner/pulley. Not sure if it's still usable but you can have it for spare parts if you want. Let me know. Will toss it out next week.

Anyone in the OC area who could help with a short test drive that would greatly help me?
I'm currently selling a MB and I'm very interested in the E92 328i, while my car has been garaged for sale I've been grateful for being able to borrow a relative's weekend E93 328i. I like the car as a whole very much, but the automatic is definitely a weak point with the throttle lag and overall slugishness that is well documented. The AA tune has good feedback for cleaning up many of the shortcomings with the 328i auto, but I don't want to commit to buying the E92 I'm looking at on the assumption I will like the way it drives with a tune. So - anyone with an AA (or similar) tuned 328i auto that would be willing to let me go on a short parking lot spin? Not interested in wringing your car out - my beef stock is how jerky it can be at low speeds with the throttle lag, that's where I want to see how AA changes things up. I would compensate well for your time, PM if interested. |

There should be a Long Beach-LA-OC sub-thread... maybe there is but havent seen it yet. im still kinda new to this. so try not chew me out to hard. lol
i just got my 335i about a month ago and its been at the shop a week cuz the water pump went out. i didnt realize how hard it was to locate new OEM parts for a 2011 335xi E90, unless my mechanic is bullshiting and is just keepin my car for the hell of it... any good (dont charge an arm and leg) mechanics here near the Long Beach Port area? is this thread even alive? |

This thread's barely alive. There is no sub-thread, unfortunately. I'd find a new mechanic, or go to a BMW specific indie. All they have to do is go to the dealership for parts.

Thanks i appreciate it. Yea I just found out my family mechanic knows how to work on BMWs, idk why i assumed he didnt.. maybe cuz i always just see hondas and domestic cars at his shop... my cousin was tellin me the guy loves BMWs. I dont know of any other mechanic that's willing to come to my house and change my rear brakes for $60, provided i get the parts myself which is not bad at all, the mechanic that has my car now quoted me about $210 for the same service. $330 if he got the parts. thats almost as much as the stealer...

Anyone looking to have their valves walnut blasted, go to the guys at SSR Performance in Santa Ana (Orange County).
I recently had mine done. The best part was the price. I paid $240. ***They are by appointment only*** |

I've been browsing for over a year but this is my first post! (Gotta do it to PM ) I've got a space gray '07 335i, black interior. 19" VMR 710's, AE axelback exhaust and that's about it so far. I can't wait to get my hands on a jb4 and some e85 but I'm holding myself back because I know I will break something and I'm not I a position to throw too much money at the car right now. Me and my brother have been bmw people for a long time. I started with an e36. had that for 2 years then did an s52 swap. About 6 months after getting it sorted I got rear ended on the Euroklasse summer fun run buy a guy in a m5 That totaled my poor car that I had spent so much time on. But out of that disaster I was able to upgrade to my 335i. My brother has had his e46 for 4 years now and I finally got my fiancé into a bmw (e82 & she loves it) last year. Anyway that's about it, come check out our meet (not set up by us but we've been attending for 3 years) San Diego BMW Meet on FB we meet the last Saturday of each month 6-8 at the In-N-Out in San Marcos.
Thanks! |

Just bought an 2008 335i coupe
Great car to drive, but I would really appreciate some advice on the questions that came up after a week of using the car. The car stood in the previous owner's yard in the sun for some time and has certain issues due to the fact that it was not used for a while.
1. When going faster than 55-60mph the doors (windows specifically) start to produce really noticeable wind noise. Poking around I found the root of the issue: dried out rubber at the rear top corner of the door glass (both driver and passenger doors) and therefore lack of proper sealing. So the question is: should I replace the rubber or there is a way to revive the current one? Does it even make sense to try to solve this issue or every coupe owner just lives with it (make the music louder and push the pedal)?. The same issue is with the sliding roof - when fully closed starts to "whistle" after the car reaches certain speed. 2. The rubber around the windshield is all cracked up and is basically falling apart. Should I try replacing it myself or take it somewhere to be fixed? I am quite good with tools, but nowhere near "bodyshop mechanic" level. 3. The plastic cover that sticks out from under the hood and covers the bottom part of the windshield looks like peeled off and I wonder if there is a way to reattach it back to the windshield, should it be replaced or should I not care at all about that specific issue? Will the rain water get somewhere where it should not be? 4. Could someone recommend a place where I can repair a broken stitching on the rear seat (broke on the top of the seat between the headrests)? Your responses would really help and would be much appreciated. Thank you. PS: if needed, I can post some pictures to illustrate my questions. |

I have a good set of MMP stock location silicone inlets. I replaced them because I installed MMP stage 3 turbos that have 2" snouts, and these are stock size. Front inlet was rubbing on a pulley and I have a picture that I can text or email. The rub barely made it to the first reinforcement threads. I have a pic showing that there are several layers of reinforcement threads. I thought about repairing the area with epoxy or resin but I chose to leave it as is so that the buyer can confirm that the rub did not go through. Asking for $100. I live in Indio but will be in Moreno Valley this Saturday if that helps anyone in the IE area.
