already broke one of mine, dropped it and the screen shattered

$250 more bucks later, new ones still looking pretty good, trying to be a little more careful with this one

+1... They Need it for their Stock Options To Improve... Or Else Their nifty Billion without any Debt Will soon diminish since they will be forced to use their buy back Features... Possible split in the near future as well

it will without a doubt be released quite soon, and the picture of the back of that new iphone, though may be accurate, is definitely PS because a 32gb iphone is not scheduled to be ot for release in the near future, WEIGHT and the fact it is Flash based will force us to wait at least another 6 months til that will be able to be released... they make their products close to perfect before releasing, and that 32 gb memory will need more testing before release

Well, of course it has to be improved, but there some highlights, like 3G superfast internet access, possibly 4 megapixel camera, GPS, etc. Come on, this is going to be an all-in-one device. Apple continues to continously launch new products and improved versions, frequently and right on the mark.

3G isn't "superfast" -- I'd consider UMTS a bare minimum for a device like the iPhone, and HSDPA 3.6 definitely preferred... especially since I've been carrying an HSDPA 3.6 phone (moto v3xx) for a couple years now. Rumor has it the likely iPhone 2.0 baseband IC does HSDPA 7.2, which is shiny... but still not leading its category. I'm pretty sure HTC and Nokia are shipping HSUPA phones already, but I don't know the state of the AWS network.

GPS is also a must-have for an all-in-one. The GPS on my Q9h kept me from buying a Garmin, but it's a god-awful PITA to use. I want GPS in my phone with an Apple-grade UI

In a nutshell, the lack of these two features has prevented me from jumping on the iPhone bandwagon from the beginning. I've used one, and it's fantastic, but I'm not going to drop that much change and still have to carry a second phone. I hope they want my money this time around

Well, the truth is that the iPhone has performed incredibly in the market compared to other smartphone brands, despite the lack of these features. They had a target market (which you're probably not in it). By adding more features they will expand that target market (including now you, maybe).

Besides the new iPhone hardware coming this summer, Apple will also release the new software that will be compatible with the older model - one of the key features of this new software version is the support of VPN and Microsoft Exchange (e-mail push). That will take a big hit on Blackberry.

Yeah, and I'm sick of being left out! I want my 3G iPhone

What I'm really looking forward to is the prospect of the Mac development community being turned loose on applications -- the iPhone has a large enough installed base that we should see plenty of development.
