Feeler: Custom Made Rear Brace (Strut Tower)

BIMMERPOST / Classifieds
Asking Price:
None

Item Interest
I have felt lately that our platform lacks “cool” guy braces/parts, so I decided to make my own. I’ve made a rear lower brace for the front subframe as well as the back subframe long with this rear strut brace. I just wanted to post this and see if anyone else out there would be interested in these.

Rear strut brace
Fits: e92, I’m not for sure on e90s, I’m sure it’s the exact same
If I do sell them there will be options including hardware, rod end choices, and powder coat colors.
Price range will be between $150-$200
-1/4 steel construction, both brackets and tubing *1/4 x 1.25 (Super Strong)
- chromoly heat treated “race rod ends” Teflon/nylon or Standard
-Grade 5-8 Stainless 1/2 bolts/nuts or zinc grade 8 or 10.9

There is no cutting, drilling, or any modification required to fit this. So you can simply go back to stock if you choose.

If you have any questions, feel free to PM me or message me on this post.

How does it attach to the car?

Do you think it'll be effective where it's located? Being so close to the trunk floor pan, the chassis should already be quite rigid there. I imagine it would be more useful up higher.

Sorry, not trying to talk down your idea and effort, just thinking out loud.

Attaches to the already welded nuts for the the trunk net nook. I agree with you about this needing to be higher.

I like the idea and would definitely buy one, but as these guys have pointed out it does need to be mounted up higher.

forgot about this post! Have been a little MIA on e90post, but I would agree, it needs to be mounted higher, I was just trying to go for something that doesn't involve cutting your carpet. Something that you could go back to stock if need be. Thanks guys!

Please, please PM me if I can buy one that connects rear strut tower/support development. Our cars are getting old and while comparatively stiff our chassis would benefit from some quality bracing. Especially for those of us with coilovers, poly bushings etc.

I’ll be making some don’t worry, you’ll have to cut your carpet though but she’ll be tight in back!
