Yeah it sounded like he was doing everything he could on his end to make assembly quick and painless for when the last part comes in (the WG flapper)

Making the flapper and wastegate hardware is a pain in the ass. It costs a lot of $$$ and time, and certainly complicates what should otherwise just be only a partway more difficult turbo upgrade than most other platforms. This is why BMW considers them non-serviceable (because they practically are) and just gives new complete turbo assemblies at great cost. Taking this part of the upgrade away would simplify the project more than its given credit.
