DD trunk or Vorsteiner Decklid.

the DD trunk is around 650 SHIPPED. and the decklid is around 500 shipped. and paint cost will be much less for the VS since its not the whole trunk. what do you guys say which looks better? any pics to help me decide?

The fitment of the DD trunk is not likely to be good though. You'd probably spend more money on having the body shop fit the trunk to your car.

The new DD trunk actually fits pretty good and looks alot better than the first version, but I still prefer Vorsteiner personally.

Nothing fits like OEM though. That's for sure.

Another thing is that DD stole my car's and Kevin's car's photos and used them in the CSL trunk comparison......

I would stick with the Vorsteiner for several reasons. The most important being that their parts are dry vacuum form carbon fiber so in terms of strength and construction, it is far superior to the wet lay you get with other parts. Based on our own installation experience, I can also vouch for the level of detail paid to the design and fit of the part on the vehicle. Installation is very straight forward and can easily be done with two people on a Saturday. All of the OEM parts transfer right over so you retain full functionality of the trunk.

related question: On the vorsteiner in the example above I notice that the deck lid is painted however the lip reveals the CF. Is this done through the body shop or does vorsteiner provide these painted in OEM paint with the reveal?

That is done at the body shop. You can leave all or part of the top exposed and paint the rest so you still get the CF exposure with a mostly paint match. There are plenty of schemes that you can do based on what look you prefer.

It's done through my friendly body shop. He did a great job with the paint scheme.

I never liked the bootlid spoiler from vorsteiner... just because it's stuck on and that messes up the flow of the bodyshape, IMHO... I say if you had to choose between the DD trunk and Vorsteiner bootlid spoiler, go for the DD trunk (at least it flows)...

Of course, I think the Vorsteiner bootlid is the way to go...

Anybody actually have the DD csl trunk installed with pics? $650 sounds like a hell of a deal if fitment is like vorsteiner's csl trunk.
