Question for you SR pipes people
after much searching, I'm still left with no answer. How do eisenmann SR pipes compare with going to a muffler shop and getting the 2ndary cats and resinators removed. Seems like the only difference is welds in piping vs 2 sections of one piece bent piping. any difference in sound? I would like some info before i drop $1000 on SR pipes. btw i'm planning on getting the sport section 3 in addition to changing the midpipes for my e92 335.

Well, the SR pipes are made of SS steel, and weigh less. I'm not sure of the construction of the stock pipes, but you will save some weight and not have to deal with rust issues (again, I don't know of the stock pipe construction but they're probably some type of aluminized steel).
If you don't want to spend the coin, you could always get it welded and see how you like it. For me, I just wanted to replace it all at once and not have to deal with trying it one way and then deciding later that I did or didn't like it. The weight savings was also a bonus, but the primary reason I got the SR pipes was for the SS construction and never having to worry about it rusting.

The bends are also smoother, as well as the SR pipes are made out of 2.5" SS piping. The main selling point to me at least is that you can keep your entire stock exhaust in tact so you can just swap out your aftermarket exhaust if you ever choose to or when you sell your car.

The Eisenmann S/R pipes offer smoother bends, 304 Stainless Steel construction and free flowing. The S/R pipes are much lighter than the stock piping. Photos OEM vs S/R |

IND has sold many sets of SR pipes and all of our customers have been really happy with sound and performance.

Correct. The SR pipes go from the downpipes all the way to the mufflers. The SR pipes are section one and section two. Section one is the secondary cat delete pipes and section two is the resonator delete pipes. They can also be purchased as individual sections. They are generally an item that we stock so feel free to PM me for purchase info if you are interested.

looks like X-pipe to me too but people say its a resonator i think...i'll probably take out the secondary cats before i touch the resinator since some have had bad experiences with messing with the resinator i.e. drone.
