Sytner Sunningdale

So it's almost time for have my car serviced and I've booked in with Sytner Sunningdale.

I was going to go via indy earlier on but realised I value my FBMWSH too much to void that invalid so I rang around and got some quotes for the labour charge only seeing as I managed to source all the required service parts from Cotswold for a small discount, in total I Paid £140 for micro filter, oil filter air filter, fuel filter and like £25 for some new wiper blades.

My first quote from Barons BMW in Hampshire was £500ish...
The second quote came from Vine of Guildford at £350..
Then I called back barons to see what they could do on the price seeing as they are the closest and they immediately dropped their pants to £340 (remembering this is labour only!)

Then after seeking advice from a fellow member, I rang a bit further out still within reasonable distance. I came to know of Sytner Sunningdale and their first quote was something like £200 which I thought is great so I booked it in....

To my surprise, i had a call today from the chap there to say they'd like to offer me a discount as it's my first time and also the fact that I came to them over my nearest dealers... I was so chuffed, I really was taken back. Who'd have thought that they would call back and beat their own price which was already the lowest on the table.

Just wanted to spreads the good word. Good people, very good telephone manners and excellent cust service.. really impressed so far. Next up .. A small review of the service after I collect the car

Not used their service dept but took out one of pre- registered "used" 5 door M135i recently.

Car had no fuel despite test drive being booked well in advance.........car was a corker but sales team could have been better prepared.

Ah fair play.. sounds like a bit a hit and miss given your experience to mine. Let's hope they don't make that same mistake twice.

I didnt know you could buy the service parts separate and take it to BMW for them to fit it - as I know that BMW do mark up on the parts

That must have made you laugh Out loud to hear a 100% mark up on a quote lol. What an arse but glad you managed to get that resolved!

Hey dude,
Maybe some folks don't allow it as I know some some dealers didn't want to quote on just labour. Sign up with bmwland and you'll get access to all Oem parts for a bit of discount from day 1.. No minimum posts required. It's not much but it's something :-)

I shouldn't see there to be any problem if all the parts are OEM.. They do check that by asking several time. I understand some franchises want to markup on their prices and stay in business. That's all good and I understand but not crazy silly money £500. I like to shop around to get a good deal not just hand over the cash and feel I'm being ripped off.

I know it sounds anal but its a massive saving as clearly seen from £500 labour charge to £130 now... Just with a Few phone calls the way I went around that is to say to the dealer that I was originally going to go via Indy but after hearing good reviews about yourselves I decided to come to you and I've also got Oem parts. They might ask how or why and just be open and say you bought them from BMW to supply to your Indy. Job done

Makes your new dealer feel good your going to them

Never had dealings with Sunningdales BMW team but I know the MINI Brand Manager there and he is a good chap.

Quite a interesting location for them too.

I got well looked after by Sytner sunningdale when I bought my M3, there are about 8 main dealers between me and them but I was happy to travel to them for the deal I got,

I think they make so much money from selling and servicing Rolls's that they don't need to gouge the rest of us as much as dealers who are chasing margins on repmobiles

I've used Sytner Sunningdale, never with good results, and now go out of my way to use Vines Guildford who are consistently exceptional. Hope your experience is OK

Well that's interesting as Vines of Guildford couldn't apparently give me a quote for labour alone and as far as the lady was concerned never knew people could bring their own genuine BMW oem parts. Strange but doesn't bother me :-) Guildford would be closer for me but happy to go Sunningdale and give them my custom seeing as they've already proved their service to be commendable thus far. Cheers will update as to how I get on

Update: Excellent service, honestly really pleased with it. Their price was so good even an indy would struggle to meet it. Really pleased with their service, they've out done my expectations lol. Highly recommended from my experience.
