How much Water Pump + Thermostat ?
I have a 2007 335 e92.
Water Pump Dealership $883 (taxes in) Indy ~ $700 Thermostat Dealership $519 (taxes in) Indy ~$300 The dealership told me the coolant flush is included and would prob save another $30 since the Thermo includes the flush too. How much did it cost you guys? I'm in Toronto and would like to get a recommendation. The dealership would use the latest gen parts (I assume) and include a warranty. Indies may not. |

the wp+thermostat for a 335 are a little more expensive then for a 325/328 (110$ more, so your parts alone come out to around 585$) . Your indys price is fair.
I havent seen any cheap waterpumps for our cars so i wouldn't worry much about them putting in some cheaper part. |

I JUST had it done 2 weeks ago at BMW, I paid 992 taxes in including tstat change, they have a package in Quebec at 710+tx+coolant for the pump change and the thermostat is 150 ish, since they need to remove it to change the pump, they dont charge extra to install it.

here is their service package calculator. oh and here is what sold me: All BMW Value Service Pricing, excluding oil and filter changes, include a two-year, unlimited mileage, parts and labour warranty against defects in material and workmanship. |

I had mine done a 2 Month ago, Indy asking price was 900 + Tax , and Dealer was 930 +Tax "MaxBimmer Special" Although I would have like to continue using my regular Indy it was hard to skip getting the dealer warranty on part/labour for $30.
note that I have a 330i and not sure if the 335i will have different parts. last one option I never entertained which is to have the parts picked up from Maranello and have the Indy install. in this case I reckon I could have saved some $$ though for the convenience it was not much worth it. I hope this helps. I failed to mention all prices included Pump + Thermostat + flushing and new coolant |

In theory they should, even if the job requires more time for any reason as per the service pack they have top honor the price (unless you have specific mods that caused the extra time).

thank you
Just to follow-up with everyone. I decided to go with the dealership. Not just any dealership, I'm going to Maranello most likely.
Here is why. Indy shops I've contacted - Ivo Columbus, Bimmex, and the ones referred to above have prices ranging from $855 to $1000 + taxes. It is 855 not 755 or less because this is for a 335 and the water pump is approx $100 more compared to the 328 or other similar cars with N52 engine or older. Dealerships They are generally a pain in the butt and most SAs don't know our cars. They will quote you based on book value in their system and require you to explain to them that water pump and thermostat are done together (parts are in the same location), so please don't double charge me on the labour. BMW Toronto - argued that they were right. Expect $1300 +taxes. BMW Parkview - argued that they were right. Expect $1300 + taxes. BMW T&C - ..... you get the picture I've mentioned that BMW Canada advertised value add pricing on their website and most of them ignored it. BMW Toronto did say they would have to match it but wouldn't offer it until I come in with proof. The nice folks at BMW Maranello when first asked provided me with the value add pricing $711 for the WP and said the thermostat would only cost another $65 in labour to install. Total cost $1000 + taxes. No explanations needed. The difference between the lowest cost indy ($855) and the dealership is $145. I consider $145 worth it to get the 2 year warranty on parts/workmanship since I hear the pumps sometimes prematurely fail even when new. And just so you know, I contacted BMW Canada and explained it to them. They were of no help. The best they could do is get the dealership to contact them and they would help argue my case. Sounds ridicous and a complete waste of time for me. thanks everyone. |

That's about right if you speak to the right dealership in Ontario. It's unfortunate that dealerships in the GTA area have such a bad reputation. Everyone has their horror stories.

my car is actually at my local shop right now for this very thing... I think they quoted me around 1100$ for both parts, and labor.
