Having ridden with him on a certain race track, I think he is actually both. He loved adding speed to the corner, but didnt mind taking it a bit too far then just laughing it off. VERY good driver however.

You guys crack me up.

I may have mentioned in another post a while back about wanting less understeer...but not in this one. Doesnt matter anyway.

Nope, I dont have an LSD and dont plan on putting one in since I will most likely move on to the next car soon anyway.

Leftcoast, I can see how your setup and mine are completely different so measuring is not worth our time. Im on H&Rs with no camber adjustment after the drop, your on coils and added camber from what I gather. Im going to just wing it and assume the 255s will fit up front. Wonder if I can get my head up in there to measure the gap?

Looks like Discount Tire Direct has the best deal right now on NT01's (unless of course someone else knows of a different place to go).

LOL - I should post up video of Park riding with me.

I think Park nailed it on the head. I teach with two organizations - one is kinda out of control and they just advocate fastfastfast. That results in guys in the top groups (and instructors, eek) who are the fast-but-out-of-control type and the other group has guys that are butter-smooth-but-slow. I am a mix of the two. I definitely push it, but I am the first to yell at myself when I overcook a corner because I come in too fast or cuss at myself when I'm 3 feet off the apex. But I smile and keep on going.

M3to335 - I always bought my Nt01 from discounttiredirect. Have never found a cheaper source. Here's a semi-accurate tip: look in your wheelwell right now. See if your tire sidewall is anywhere near a protrusion on your strut in a Y-Axis manner. It could be a spring perch, a ring, whatever. The NT01 255-40-17 is close to the same diameter, just a lot wider than what you probably have on there right now. Imagine the NT01 will grow horizontally. If it does, does it approach an area that is wider than the strut tube (perch/ring/etc.) ?

If the current tire height is in line with the strut tube, you should be fine. sorry, hard to explain.

Leftcoast, that was one confusing explaination, but I know what you meant before you said it

Last night I jacked up the drivers front corner a little to get a view. From the rolling face of the tire to the underside of the perch is a little gap. Since the diameter is nearly the same, Im OK there.

From the sidewall of the tire to the strut tube there is about 25mm or more. Keep in mind Im measuring off of 235s on my Iforged 19s. Not the best comparison by any means. The offset is relatively extreme on those. I may just throw the stock front wheel on and measure the gap. I'm sure it will be fine.

If the rolling tread is below the perch, you should be ok.

FYI - with the NT01 255 on the Kosei, I had 5-6mm between the sidewall and stock strut tube. The TCK isn't much different.

On the NT01, run about 30 cold rear and 31 cold front. Should get you up near 40 hot, which is about right. Watch your shoulders though, you can ruin the tire pretty quickly if you drive like a bat outta hell on a warmup lap when the tire is still at ~30psi and rolling over like a pig. Rotate like crazy and flip the tires on the rims (so inside sidewall is on outside) about 4 days in. That'll maximize tire life.

Ive never seen such tire life like you got LCM. I was laughing when you came in with just one session left... Every time.

Haha. True. Basically got 9 or 10 days out of that set.

I ended up swapping at the end of the weekend even though I had tire left left. I had the new set of tires shipped to the track and didn't want to carry an extra set home, so I just had them mounted at the track.

I literally wore them down so that there no wear groove and no drill holes. The thing looked like a full slick! No cords showing either. I think I can claim the "Cheap Bastard" award for going session after session on those tires, lol.

Funny thing is that once I swapped to the new set, I only shaved about 1/2 second off my laptime. The most significant change was that the car pushed more than usual on the worn out set, but was perfectly balanced on the new set. I rotated the old set front/rear and still got the same push. That result still confuses me.

I started mine at ~32 and with it being as hot as it was at the track (95F) I went up to over 45psi each session. I kept dropping to 40 hot, and it would go up again. I have to remember that the 3 is still a heavy car.

The important data point is the HOT temps. With the NT-01, don't go much over 40 as it gets greasy as crap above that.

I could noticed a large difference in grip with my tires (not R compounds) Dunlop Direzza Z1 Star spec. Tire pressures make huge differences.

A couple people PM'ed me inquring about the possible fit issues with 255s on the Koseis. Well here is the update;

I finally got the NT01's on today and had a chance to fit them on the car. Using the back side of a tire pressure gauge I could barely squeeze it between the strut and side of the tire. In other words, there's about 4mm of space till they rub.

I went for a spirited 10min drive to try to get them just a tad warm and there was about 3mm of gap left. I "think" they will be OK at the track, but only time will tell. Its fricken close, thats for sure. Worst case scenario I can waterjet a 2mm spacer to push the wheel out a touch. There should be enough thread on the wheel bolts to do that.

One thing is for sure......these are sticky and actually dont look half bad.

Are you rubbing the wheel well at all? How close to full lock is it if you are?

I did a broken "k" in the middle of the road which makes the wheel lock or at least nearly lock from side to side. I didnt hear any rubbing.

They arent on any more so I cant tell you how close it is to the wheel well exactly.
