Oil Coolant
I was driving on the freeway and ride went into LIMP mode saying Engine overheating that I must stop the car to cool off. So I did...and few minutes later I restarted the car...everything seem normal. I pulled to the parking lot and opened up the hood, I see Oil Coolant has been over flow and leaked through the Oil Coolant cap and also noticed on the right(Passenger side) front fender I see Oil Coolant color stains(Bluish liquid) sprayed....somewhat looked like all the dirt kicked off by front tire during rainy day like stain...could it be Water pump problem? I just hate the fact that I have to remove certain items to take it to the dealer...
P.S. Something like this happend before and it was low coolant so I added Distilled water back then and problem seem to went away. Should I add BMW recommended Oil Coolant? Now it's second time it has happend and only happened when Outside Temp is over 85 degrees. |

Looks like the car overheated and the coolant overflowed out of the coolant reservoir. If it happened to you twice already, then its time to have the dealer check it out. And yes, use only the Blue BMW coolant mixed with Distilled water in 50/50 mix. If you have no coolant, just use the Distilled water straight.
