A2DP Bluetooth adaptor for those that don't have it

Might have been posted before but I've stumbled on a easy way to adapt your smart phone with A2DP blutooth to the original Auxiliary audio input in older models.
It involves a Sony HWSBTA2W BT adaptor :
and a dual USB adaptor

The Sony adaptor is designed to be plugged in to 120 but the adaptor output is 4.5V 500mA which should be able to be supplied by USB (5V, 100mA) You can splice the AC adaptor plug to a USB plug the USB plug are available from radio shack or digikey or canibalize a cheap cable (Red is + Black is - two others are data dont connect em) hook them up to the cutoff adaptor plug to the sony (see wall wart label for proper +/-) and you are essentially done.

You can use one USB from the 12V adapter for your BT A2DP and the other to charge the Iphone or other smartphone. I will do a build of this later and take pics

FYI, this should probably have been posted in the "AUDIO/VIDEO + BLUETOOTH + Electronics/Alarm/Software" forum.

I did something similar in my car; Blackberry A2DP Remote Stereo Gateway connected to AUX and powered by the USB port under the armrest. I also spliced a USB cable and have a flash drive connected, so I can use the gateway or the flash drive without having to move cables around.

My only concern is exceeding 500mA, but I don't think the gateway draws much power.

I have an iogear bluetooth usb adapter that I tried this with tonight and it didn't seem to work. It says it supports A2DP, but when I try to go to the USB input on the radio, it just says "load".
