Ill give you props for doing it yourself, because a lot of the members on this forum pay crazy prices for stuff that they can do themselves, such as wrapping their car with stickers. but, i would much rather your original color than flat black...

How did you deal with overlapping the vinyl? Did that come into play at all when you were wrapping? In the second pic, it looks like you had to overlap the vinyls.

Also, did you take off your side markers?

$120 is such a small price for a lot of fun and to satisfy my curiosity.

I would do the roof on Thursday night, hood on Friday (always off on Fridays), side mirrors/front and rear bumpers on Saturday, driver side Sunday, and left side on Monday (will call in sick). Probably take it all off Tuesday cause it looks like shit.

FOUND THIS WEBSITE THAT SELLS THIS STUFF! lORACAL 651 Intermediate Cal Vinyl 48" x 50 Yard Roll. looks like it's 48"x50', he said you only need 48"x25' to wrap his ENTIRE car! lolz you could probably do 2 cars out of this stuff. $179.50+$10.00 shipping is a steal yah?... if this is the stuff you can't go wrong at that price...

Can you elaborate on the vynil liquid you used? what is that? is it just windex? lil soap n water?...

UPDATE

Called the company and they recommend the ORACAL 951 Premium Cast Vinyl 48" x 50 Yard Roll $599.99+$10 shipping becuase its half the thickness (2mil vs 4mil) and it is rated to last longer... please let us know what thickness you got... i'm assuming at the price you got it for you probably got the 651 which is rated at 4mil... please confirm! also found out you can only buy this stuff in the 10 yard/ 50 yard cuts, so you would have a bunch left over to do another car!

heres the link to the ORACAL 951 Premium Cast Vinyl 48" x 50 Yard Roll

Kriston, can you elaborate on how its not good? reason i ask is it is a pretty big price diff on the material. is it that much better?... can u see/feel a texture difference? is the 4mil stuff that much harder to work with than the 2mil stuff? i don't think any of us are concerned with the logevity of the product 3yr vs 6yr life, since this is a pretty "trendy" mod. i mean were talkin $610. vs $190...

The 951 cast product is designed to work around corners and tough areas better. It also comes in a 60 inch wide formate, the 48 wide vinyl sometimes doesnt cover the entire panel and you need to overlap.

Im no expert at it, but before i had my car wrapped i did some research on the different types. They rate the 951 cast higher because it also adheres better then the lower end stuff. The lower end stuff isnt made for vehicle wraps its made for printing and decal graphics.

Kudos to the OP, job well done sir! Wish you were up here in Canada, you would have saved me tons!
