JB4 map 5 G5 with default settings
30-40% mix of E85 into 93 octane
CPE catless DP's
ETS FMIC
DCI
No sec cats



Let me know what you guys think..

you'r ignition timing curve has a couple drops, the car isn't liking it.

what is your Open Fuel Loop setting set at? the OL setting is either set too low, or you don't have enough E85 or enough octane for the boost levels.

For comparison, here is what a healthy timing curve looks like:

This, and fuel trims are high. You should try to raise open loop.

Yea i was surprised by drops, never had those before with m E85 mixes. Maybe didnt have enough adaption, i dont know....

Open loop is on auto with the default settings. Map5 should auto adjust but my 93 octane with 5 gallons of E85 usually works good.

I see the trims are passing 50 which is high. wonder if i should set it manually.

You should email terry about that with a log, he answers really fast.
What I did when my trims where high was to raise open loop by 5's, until trims stayed below 50.

when you say raise by 5.. You mean set the auto learn open loop to manual and raise it by 5 correct? until they are under 50.

I would check to see where your OL setting is at, it's under the "advance settings tab." It'd be hard to suggest what to do without knowing your OL settings. Default is 80, but auto-learning will auto adjust this value, which is what why it's best to check.

I run JB4 g4 board on my 2010 E90 and on 91 octane my fuel open looping is at 80. After I add E-85 my fuel open looping jumps up to 88. Before it jumps up to 88 my car runs rough between shifts but @88 she runs strong. You def should adjust your fuel open looping.

Just went to the garage to check and its at 90..

Not sure what to adjust or change, i just noticed that trims over 50 is not good.

Try 95, then 100. Ifyou max out, you will need the back end flash bms offers.

You may want to try to set Future Use A to a value of 2, then adjust OL setting to 95, do 3 WOT runs, then log on the 4th run. If it still maxes out, you may want to try 100 and try it over again. If it still maxed out, you'll need:

1) go down to an E30 mix
2) get a BMS back-end flash to correct fuel trims

Thanks lot for ther advice guys! REally appreciate it.

Now one question before i go out and log.
Should i input these values without setting FUA=2?Which would make Open loop manual and not auto.
Or just input them while its still on auto adjusting open loop..

I rather come down on the E85 mix then get the BMS flash. Sorta pricey, since i dont run E85 all the time.

You can do it both ways like you've mentioned above. If you leave FUA=0, you may end up with the issue again. But you can "assist" the auto-leaning by manually entering a value and it'll auto-learn from you.
