Pissed!!! What can I do to fix this?

2 days ago on my way to work on the freeway, I hear a thump on the hood then the windshield. I saw what looked like a black ball 1/2 the size of a golf ball hit the windshield. Sounded like a soft material, but I was probably going 75-80mph. I didn't look at it until today. This is the result.

I know it's a lot of the same pic, but I'm just pissed! I know there's nothing I can do about it but it dented the hood pretty good and can be seen from under the hood as well.

Any ideas how much it would cost to fix this? what options do I have?

omg it got right down to the sheet metal wow!!!.

my suggetions

1 get some Tiag touch up paint

2.buff out the black scuffs

3.fill in the hole with the touch up paint

but iam not an expert at scratches down to the metal.if it was a clear coat /paint problem i could have helped you out a lil better

I'm tempted to buff it out, but it looks like the paint is going to chip off around there. Don't even want to wash the car.

any ideas on cost to fix at body shop?

not a chance..i had a little burn mark resprayed from a reputable paint shop and the color did not match at all, had it done again by BMW for 200 and it matched perfectly and even, they even vacuum your car. get it done RIGHT from BMW for..~200-250 out the door.

BMW dealer? ok, I guess I'll get a quote from them first. Then see what a body shop charges. I am concerned about the color match though.

How much for a new hood? j/k

Try your hand at fixing it. I dont think you can make it worse and it will give you a little know how in case you get a smaller chip one day and you want to repair it.

that's what I was thinking. I'd imagine it'd be at least $400, but more like $600.

My BMW dealer tore my door apart (due to the location, window had to be removed), removed dent and repainted for $400. Some jackass caved mine in with a red G5/Cobalt/whatever coupe.

Mine is TiAg and redone pretty darn well. Personally, I am a firm believer that you get what you pay for.

And, IMHO, there is always (as the other gents put it) VORSTEINER!!

e-92 lighting, I was actually about to install your mtec bulbs until I saw this, I was so pissed, I was in a bad mood to install the bulbs.

I think I'll take it to the dealer and pay a little more. But I'm heavily considering a new hood. I just hope my wife doesn't check this forum. j/k.
