Outside noise on the motorway

Hi,

When I am driving on the motorway there seems to be a lot of outside noise coming in, like blowing wind. Sounds like its from the top/side of the windows.

Would this be the rubbers? Car is 09.

Would this be covered on the extended warrantee?

I presume you have an E92? If so, do a search. I believe the frameless windows can be adjusted to increase the pressure of the glass on the rubber surrounds.

I'm not being funny but there's an issue with e92's where the front wings flap slightly at speed and you would swear the noise is coming from the top of doors or top of windscreen. If you move them by hand and the movement is excessive then there's a mod that can be done.other than that Phil is correct and the windows can be adjusted in/out/up/down to cure air noise/water ingress issues

I had exactly this noise and tried the recommended cure (glue the wing fixings) without success. I think the noise is generated by air flow around the cabin filter intake and the plastic scuttle moulding at the base of the windscreen.

I cured it by taping black PVC tape along the entire width of the base of the windscreen at the junction between the windscreen and the said scuttle moulding.

Window adjusted and it fits the seals more snugly but i still hear the noise. I'm going to put some tape around the wing lines to see if I can alter the noise.
