Considering a tune

Hey guys,

Like many of us here, I've been waiting for cobb to release an AP for the e92 n55 xi simply for the ease of use, but I know it'll be a while before its out.

With that said, I'm just gonna bite the bullet and get either a procede or jb tune but I want to know what types of awhp #'s people are getting. I really just want a tune for now and then maybe a couple years down the road will get some bolt ons.

If anyone has dyno charts of their 335xi n55's with just their tune and what they achieved to all 4 wheels, that would be nice to see and help in making my decision.

Thanks in advance!

I have PPK, it got old very quick. Got proceed and had tons of issues (I am sure it was my fault) and now have JB4. Go for it.

It took me more time to remove the cowl, caps, and cover for the computer than the actual install of the JB4 last weekend. I can probably do it in less than 10 minutes now that I have done it. I do like on the fly map changes, logging with USB, check codes, on and on and on of options. Im shocked how the map 0 (stock) Map 1 and Map 2 are differnt. Its night and day.

The install isnt fool proof, but pretty dang close and once its done you dont look at it again.

Thanks for the info. Have you had a chance to dyno? I just wanna get a ballpark of where I'll be in terms of awhp/awtq if I get a jb4 and throw it on.

Have not had it on a dyno. I will wait till I have a few more things before I get to that step. Dont let one person make your decision, let hundreds.

I also have both the ppk and jb4. I mainly use the ppk and switch maps back and forth.. For city driving the ppk is great.. Lots of torque and great on gas.. On an open road the jb4 is amazing..I'm sure you'll be happy with either..

Thanks a lot for all the suggestions guys! I definitely want to hear from more which way to go. Right now jb4 looks like a winner.

Ive tell people all the time, get the tune that fits your needs today. Never wait around for tunes that dont exist with no actual ETA on arrival. For me, this hits home even harder. I exchange cars rather quickly, and normally dont drive my sports cars in the winter so my time with the car is not a lot. I've had experiences where i waited for production of performance mods and years later they still dont exist despite what the manufacturers tell you. Not saying Cobb wont't come out, but you want to enjoy your car now right?

Talking JB4

I bought my 11 e90 335i x drive used last September with 3K miles and put 20K miles on before I put the JB4 and BMS intake on, what a schmo I was for waiting 11 months. The install takes a while but if i can do it anyone can, the instructions and videos are really helpful, and the end results are unbelievable, it really wakes the motor up, now waiting for the speed delimiter!!!! Oh yeah and the SWC's really make it sweet.

Wait, there's a speed de-limiter?? How much is that and is the one you're getting OEM? I assume you don't have a sport pkg like mine?
