So, I'm confused.
Are only the RZ Advans forged?
Or the Ds forged?

Why aren't the RS wheels forged?

RS and RS-D are cast (but i guess there is cast and cast when it comes to names like advan). Thats why i waited sooo long for the RZ-DF because i liked the style of the RS-D but i wanted forged wheels.

The Advan RZ-DFs are 100% foraged and are equivalent to that of a Volk TE37 in terms of weight and production. These wheels are extremely light in weight even in a 19" setup. I can't wait to see it on your car Enrico!!

The RZ-DF is Advan's only forged wheel at the moment, and is actually forged by Rays (Volk). Yokohama has a couple other Forged wheels in their AVS line though.

The RS and RS-D are flow formed cast. However, just because they are cast does not mean they are not strong or light. Advan uses very high quality aluminum combined with quality castings and heat treatment, that gives overall strength and weight very similar to other Forged wheels.

Forging is just a technique...overall quality control goes a lot farther than just saying "cast" or 'forged"

We weighed a set of these gems in Platinum Black / Machined finish

19x9 +22 = 18.4 lbs

19x10 +22 = 19 lbs

The weight difference in Advan flow-formed cast wheels and their forged wheels are very minimal. The strength is similar, however I believe the manufacturing process is much cheaper in flow-forming due to the added cost of the high-pressure forging machines.

Forged wheels should have added strength characterists, but not sure the level of difference.

F1 and Indy cars use Flow-Form Cast BBS wheels.

So in response to WheelSTO's weight analysis, there is a 2lb difference in the weight of the RZ-DF to the weight of my RS-D. Same design, 2lb difference.
2lb in rotational mass would be approximately equal to around 65-80lb of weight loss from your acceleration.

Here is a 19x10 et20 RS-D

Here is a 19x10 et22 RZ-DF

There is almost a 3 lbs weight difference which is actually pretty considerable.

Indy and F1 cars use forged Magnesium wheels...flow formed cast wheels are just not light/strong enough for the crazy lateral loads that F1 cars see.
