Cool Budget Logic 7 delete

Hi guys, recently removed logic 7 and replaced the amplifiers, figured I'd share.
After selling my logic 7 amplifier for 300 locally, I had my car coded to hifi by dj_kevinnn in NYC.

I chose to go with Rockford Fosgate punch amplifiers since they can handle "Balanced Differential Inputs".

- P300X1 ($130) - to power underseats

- P400X4 ($220) - One channel to each of the front speakers, the rear speakers together on the other 2 channels.

- CD changer trim ($71)

I had already purchased two SWS8x slim subs to replace my underseats as one had stopped working. I chose not to purchase the technic harness since I would never revert back to logic 7 & to keep costs down. Not including the cost of the SWS slims I think my cost was around $200. Here are a few pictures.

What did you use instead of Technics harness? I'm assuming you just cut the wires, but how did you get the signal to the amp?

This is accomplished by getting the Metra quadralock piece and creating RCA outputs for your radio. Then run the RCAs for your amplifier to the trunk.

Also, to prevent getting SOS Errors, you need the MOST terminator loop. Or, if you'd like I can also remove the Logic 7 MOST wires from the loop.

That's what I thought. I had one for sale is why I asked. I've done basically the same thing, although I recently replaced the headunit with an Alpine S920hd. I took the fiber optic wires out of the loop and put them in the unused block since I didn't see a reason to buy the extra parts.

Anyways, did you notice an improvement in sq? You did lose the logic 7 processing but the extra power should clean it up a bit.

Definitely an improvement in SQ and power too. The only issue with this is when going to the HIFI stereo, the OEM radio boosts the high frequencies to cope with the lack of tweeters on the HIFI stereo. So with this setup, there is a lot of highs, I personally have my treble at -5 at the moment. At low volumes it's not bad, but at higher volumes it hurts. Maybe down the line a good processor could clean this up.

Hifi has tweeters, and the signal should be flat. I think the stock logic 7 tweeters are just a little harsh at high volumes.
