318d SE Business edition
Hi all
I am thinking of selling my E92 and have seen a 318d SE business edition, just wondering if anyone has one and thr pros and cons of the 318d?.I need a 4/5 door now (the parents are getting a bit old to hop in and out the coupe). I was also thinking of an X1 any opinions? |

I presume the business edition comes with iDrive? Having had the business iDrive for a year now I would steer clear of it, the screen is too small and the nav does not accept full postcodes, I have gotten lost more times than I care to remember with it. It is the only thing that I am unhappy with in my car (despite only having the the 318i).
I will not buy another car with this iDrive in it. |

I have Business iDrive on an LCi 320 & although it’s a bit convoluted it does accept full postcodes & why is the screen too small? It’s a darn sight bigger than an aftermarket sat nav that most people find satisfactory! I agree it’s not as big as the pro but it’s certainly big enough to see from the driver’s seat. As for getting lost that a function of the routes suggested by the BMW navigation system which can be quite bizarre at times but it’s always got me where I’m going and it’s a darn sight easier than fitting / removing a TomTom all the time! Although I’d much rather have Pro Nav, Business certainly does the job for me and iDrive makes access to many of the functions and info much easier |

It accepts full postcodes???? My does not, it stops at the 4th character.
The screen is too small compared to the Professional (which I had previously). |

The screen is small compared to the Professional but it's not too small to do the job unless you're Mr Magoo! |

It's the same as mine so the short answer is NO!
makkan00 is thinking of the DVD based nav system where you can buy hooky discs from the net. It's unlikely that speed camera updates will ever be available for LCI cars but the nav system (maps etc) can be updated via the glovebox USB, although they're expensive |
