limiter with AA tune
I just AA tuned my 325i today and I was wondering if the top speed limited is taken off if it is how fast can my car go. I also put in a stage 3 intake manifold. It feels like I'm driving a new car.

AA tune means active autowerke they specialize in tuning BMW and remaping their software . The stage 3 cost me around 850... I installed it myself. The stage 3 is what gave the 330i 255 HP. The car didnt have the right software so I only had a 5-10 HP gain. Dealers didn't want to remap it so I got the AA tune for about $400. And instead of 255 HP like the 330i I have 268. So I got a 53 HP gain.

That's even better so I have 270 HP.. and yes they gave me a 330i tune because I put in a stage 3 intake manifold. Which is the only difference engine wise with a 330i and a 325i . Plus theoretically I should be faster than a 330i with the same amount of HP because 325i have more aggressive gearing and weighs a little less.

The AA tune and 3-stage manifold gives you about 30whp from what I measured. About 180hp stock vs 210hp tuned with the manifold.

Who did the intake manifold swap for you?
I was wondering what they charged you for labor, or if you did it yourself.

How many miles did you put on with the reflash before you dynoed it? I think it would make a difference if it was 20 or 500 miles. Mine seems to be faster and definitely more lag free at 500 miles than at 100. Did you get the tune with or without a more free flowing exhaust? They tuned it according to the mods I made. Just saying maybe the remus exhaust helped or maybe it would of been better if I put the 330 exhaust which is more free flowing than the 325i.

Check out my sig for my mods. I had about 1000mi on it when I got it dynoed but remember I have 160,000 mi on my car. I still think there's power left over. You might be feeling the torque. There's a 40ft-lb increase and peak occurs at 2700 instead of 3600.
The gears on the manual 325 car are super tall. Too tall I think. A 330 has the torque to pull those gears but a 325 stock has trouble staying in the power band. I think shorter gears would be beneficial on the track. On the freeway though, the taller gears would help.

I think the arguments now are " my car is faster and better because I have it" one way to settle this, someone with a 330i has to race me. Seriously though if someone is nearby and wants to race just ask.
