E92/3 Different Steering Wheels

I went to my local BMW dealer today and sat in a E92 with sport package and it has the same steering wheel as the sport package E92 EXCEPT the E93 had thumb indents like the M3/Mtech wheel.

If anyone knows what I am talking about, let me know what's up.

Also, the e93 has the microphone built into the steering wheel, while the e92 has it on the top console

So when I switched my wheel in my E93 over to the M wheel, did I impact the microphone (I assume it was part of one of the spring clips)? I didn't know the microphone was in the wheel!

Thanks
Jon

Apparently the manual says it is in the steering column. My car is at home. Can someone check out theirs?

it's not the actual wheel - no wires go to that - it is either in the column or in the area around the button on the wheel, but putting the M3 wheel on would not have had any impact.

Pics of auto and manual

This is only for E92 and current E90, form my understanding 06 330i's E90 Sports did not have the "bump" no matter what version transmission you have

The M or M-Tech wheel is thicker and does not have chrome.

E90 330i with sportpaket did have the bump with MT. Not sure if AT version had it.
