I would feel the same way if I had an M, but I would go with debadging!

That trunk is hot. I was debating it for literally 6 months, but figured it would be over kill with my hood. But regardless, that's a great paint finish. Looks awesome!

So wanting to do this but since my car is an 08, I'm afraid of what the paint will look like underneath. The paint overall is in pretty good condition so I'm sure it will be fine, but I'm still a little worried...

Don't be afraid of the unknown. Mine is a 2009 and I shaved it in 2013. No problem at all. Heat gun + tooth floss + goo gone.

Ok ok, I'll give it a shot when the weather warms up a bit! Worst case scenario, I'll put it back on I guess!

When I bought my 320 it already came de-badged, the previous owner took the car along to his local main BM' dealer to get it done.

I was going through all the paperwork that came with the car and happend to come accross the invoice, he was actually charged........ almost £80 ($134)!!!

Did'nt anyone tell him about the hairdryer method? (obviously not me thinks).

... I have a jet black car (aka softest paint known to the auto industry pretty much) and I had no issues.

Use a hair drier to warm it up, doesnt need to even be that hot. Then use fishing line or even dental floss and "saw" through the glue.

Then wipe the residue with some goo-gone, and wash and wax and you will be quite happy!

I am the OP and I did finally de-badge my car last fall. Never posted pics though.

Debaged FTW. Looks so much cleaner. I would probably even debadge an M car... at least the truck badge.

Time to open up a professional debadging business and count the profits!

That's outrageous. I guess he just didn't want to mess with it
