Stainless steel(not chrome) rims. The black ones here.
http://www.beyernwheels.com/BMW_whee...n_typemesh.php Using micro fiber towels So I took out my summer rims to clean them. All is well until the last wheel which was especially dirty. Im cleaning and cleaning and before I know it the finish becomes all cloudy. Im thinking maybe the dirt came onto the towel and I ended up scratching everything. I used metal polish(mothers brand) aftwards but it didnt do anything, but maybe I didnt use it right. What do I do now?!?! |

you may have scratched the clearcoat. you can't use metal polish if it's clear coated. you can tell by putting a little polish on a cloath, rub it on the wheel, and there should be a black residue afterwards. if there's none, then it's got a clear coat. you can try using a mother's cleaner wax, or you can try to have your wheels re-cleared.

Yup the polish definitely turns to a black residue, I made sure that it wasnt just dirt. Ill try polishing it again tomorrow.
