JB solenoid bypass

hi all,

getting my jb+ tomorrow in the mail hopefully, had some questions about the solenoid bypass... i plan to initially leave the jb+ at default levels since i dont have a bavtech yet and generally want to protect the life of my car, is the solenoid bypass going to provide any utility to me? I had wanted to keep it as "oem+" as possible but am willing to do with bypass if it is safe and unlikely to create any problems to the car; if i decide to do the bypass can anyone offer insight as to which bypass to do (new or old), and why? I know there are a bunch of posts and i have read them but most of the cars are not stock, etc. I appreciate all words of wisdom, thanks a bunch.

no need to do the bypass at default settings. In fact a bunch of people run 75% w/o the bypass. 100% you might wanna consider the bypass. hope it helps

i'm not very knowledgeable on the JB+
but i would really suggest you get a more Complete tune that adjusts more engine parameters to better support the added boost you seek.

such as the PROcede or JB4... OR PROcede

JB+ and "generally want to protect the life of my car" have no business being in the same post together. My recommendation? when you get it in the mail... send it back. At the very least, look at the JB4... +1 for Javier's recommendation.

I'd gamble there are more JB+ and SSTT type tunes in use today than all the other tuners combined. They are extremely safe with their modest 2-4psi increases and rarely give anyone headaches. I think a lot of "forum guys" tend to suffer from information overload and fail to look at the long reliability history provided by thousands of users before spouting off their nonsense.

You say a lot of things are safe... Most of us have learned to take that with a grain of salt. No offense.

thanks mike! took me a while to install it (i believe my dealer broke the tmap clip last july when i got new turbos so i had been looking for a clip that did not exist) until i realized it was broken then got it plugged in in a second, car seemed more responsive immediately, even just revving before engaging gear, need to get out and go drive a bit. thanks for advice
