Anyone going? Will be my first time on a track. Anything I should do ahead of time to my 2007 335xi A/T? (I am hesitant to track an Auto but my friends talked me into it)..

Congrats man! Once you do your first track day it won't be your last! Have fun, enjoy your Bimmer and above all - be safe!

off the top of my head:

oil change (depending on how old the oil is)
top off all fluids
track pads
high temp brake fluid
visual check of tires (no bubbles, nails, etc)

Do you have a helmet yet? One other thing, if you can, buy or borrow a GoPro HD Hero Camera to record the action, you won't regret it

yeah I have a helmet already. a friend works for Fulmer and hooked it up.

yeah I'll pop into the dealer for an oil change etc or should I go with something other than that?

I'll have to look into the track pads and high temp brake fluid.. any recco?

thanks man I'm pretty excited but also hesitant as to what it will do to the car :/

Wish I could go! However, I'll be visiting BMW Spartanburg for work at that same time. Have fun!

go with a dealership or you can go with VSMotorsports or IND (know that they offer service)

I would reccomend several different pads for the 335i:
You can go from anywhere from Hawk HP+ to the hardcore DTC-70 (which I run on my m3) and I run motul brake fluid. I would talk to Matt At VS he is very knowledgable and can help you out.

BTW, is your 335i have the sport package or just a add on oil cooler?

I have the sport package.. I have been meaning to ask about the oil cooler.. what does that mean then? I have an upgraded oil cooler?

I think I will do that FMU day as well. Very cheap.

The only reason I ask about the dealership is because of the service program but I have no problem getting some stuff done somewhere else.. but heres a question:

My stock pads are pretty beat and squealing right now.. do you think I should put track pads on for the event, then when its over put the crappy ones back on and take it to the dealer so they can put new OEM ones on? Trying to figure it out and take advantage of the service program.

Is high temp fluid mandatory? or could I get away with what I have now?

thanks for all the help!

Its a good thing you have a oil cooler, many of the 335i (older i believe) did not come with one. The oil cooler helps keep your engine temps low. Some people have issues with going into limp mode at track days. But you will be perfectly fine with the sport package oil cooler

In regards to your thoughts on the pads, I would recommend doing that, you can then get a dedicated track pad and use them when you do events. I have been doing and it works out perfect, free oem brakes from the dealership and a set of track pads for when I do events
I would recommend high temp fluid, but it isnt necessary, you will just feel your pad become mussy
