Recommend ATL Shop for Diff installation

Located in Marietta and looking for a shop to complete a Diff carrier install on my e92

Will probably do rear sway bar upgrade at the same time.

Hey man... congrats on the Diff! I have a shop to recommend, but only if you promise you won't be scared of the appearance. It's a good friend of mine, shitty shop but he's a genius and very meticolous and precise person.

If you like to take the garage queen to a palace-like shop, many of the guys here will probably recommend TopSpeed up in Alpharetta.

Let me know.

Good luck,

-Walter

As Walter said safest bet/ probably a little expensive would be Top Speed in Alpheretta.

But if Walter knows a guy...

A diff carrier install should not be tricky. I plan to use Eurotech in Marietta if I get GIAC tuning. I'd probably try them for this job if I lived in that area. My mechanic in Norcross can definitely do it also since he did mine during my LSD install, The Shop, 678-352-4900

Great info from all.

Walter, please PM me the contact info of your shop. In my experience you cant judge a shop (or its work) by its outside appearance. Thanks for the immediate responses gents.

Werd. My Toyota FJ shop is in the ghetto and looks like ass on the outside, but once you step in you see nice orderly tools and lifts, plus awesome projects inside.

I had a FJC completely decked out, $15000 worth of goodies, but sold it when I gained my sanity back realizing how stupid I was. I parted out most of the stuff and sold the FJC for a profit. I broke even after parting it and selling the truck.

I realized that using a $30k rig + $15000 for 4x4 was absolutely insane, when you could buy a cheap Jeep/ FJ62, FJ80, or any 4Runner and then spend a little bit of money into it to do even more on the trails.

DD 4x4s are retarded... IMO.

I did the same with a Jeep Rubicon. New Jeep + $14K in parts. Along came baby. After that, the only time I drove it in over a year was to get an emissions test, so I decided to sell before it rotted away in my garage. Wish I had your luck in recovering the $. I let mine go for $17k built.

Then I got the 335 sedan, because its a "responsible family car".

Yeah it's nuts watching people who have these insanely impractical 4x4 rigs as DD. My FJC got about 14 mpg tops on the highway, and I drive 25,000 miles or so a year...

Yep, the way you have to do it is to leave the 4x4 basically stock to use as a daily driver. Once it gets up in the 100k mile range then mod it. I sort of did that with my '89 4Runner. I'm the original owner. The only problem I ran into is I actually gradually upgraded so I have been dragging around big tires for a long time. Strange enough my motor semi-went last summer so I had to put in another motor, probably went from dragging around those big tires too long.

Here you go:

Luis: 404-271-6899

If he doesn't pick up leave a message, he should be calling you back. Luis is a good friend, he knows a lot and - as mentioned - is incredibly meticulous and precise.

When I showed him my 335i for the first time he told me he'd kick my ass if I did anything to it. Eventually we settled on chip, exhaust and intake.

Let me know if you have trouble getting in touch with him.

Best of luck,

-Walter

Anyone have any experience with Performing Imports in Alpharetta? Them and Global are the only Dinan shops in our area, but they do service also. Wondering if they are a good alternative to the dealers.
Here's their link:
