Torsen vs Haldex?

Hey, when shopping for a new small suv, i ran into some AWD questions. Mainly torsen(used on q5 quattro) vs haldex(lr2, xc60, etc).

To my understanding is that torsen is always 50:50 then shifts accordingly whereas haldex is mainly FWD then quickly shifts to 50:50?

I could be completely wrong, and if i am, please correct me.

So, which would be best for snow covered roads motoring? I dont really care about off roading.

We can ignore the fact that haldex may not HANDLE as well as torsen in dry conditions, since i am concerned with the wet and slick snow.

Also, does BMW xdrive or 4 matic use either of these systems?

Torsen is what Audi has been using since AWD invention.
Haldex is what r32s/a3s have been using.

Torsen is fully mechanical (as far as i know).
Basically its bullet proof
