Yes. drain and flush the tank....if you didn't drive very far you may be OK. BTW: I remember the leaded fuel pumps had a larger outlet pipe and wouldn't go into the smaller inlet hole for unleaded cars??

I would keep filling up your tank with gas, letting it get no lower than 3/4 tank. Changing your spark plugs is a great idea as Bubble said.
VPracingfuels.com is a good place to learn about different types of gas and their color.

I would thin it out and burn it off. I vaguely remember this coming up before and the consensus was you would have to burn leaded fuel for hundreds, maybe thousands of miles before it would damage the sensors and cats. Don't hold me to that, but this isn't like putting gas into a diesel where you'd be instantly screwed.

Are the factory O2 sensors the wideband type?
If they are I think he should be ok...I used to run C16 -- 117 octane in my other car every now and then and the wideband o2 sensor hung in there. |

Thanks everyone for the info. I am going to take the car into a local mechanic, have the tank flushed and the plugs changed. Will they be able to replace the o2 senser? What will this run me? Anything i need to know before I bring the car in? Will they be able to do these items w/o it leaving a log of it on the computer's memory? See, me asking questions before I do something, only if I did that before putting the gas in. The worst part is, as I was going to put it in, i thought, hmmmm never seen anyone talk about 110 octane on the forums, maybe I should ask why thats so much higher than the 100 and 104 I have seen discussed here. I mixed to aim for a 104 final mix with what i had in the tank. Then went right ahead and put it in. You live, you learn. |
