Cost to lower E92 Xi to RWD height?
I haven't ruled out buying an Xi yet (I don't need AWD) for my E92 6MT search. What is the real world cost to get a RWD E92 height on an Xi?
I don't want anything crazy, no slammed BS, no super rough ride stuff. I will be doing a wheel upgrade on whatever I get (19", something OEMish). No stretched tire stuff (yuck) or anything super aggressive. Daily driver car. I'm just trying to figure out the cost to lower it to see how that impacts the overall purchase price. |

You will need coilovers
Cost will be over well over $1k not counting install. http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=616761 |

Xi cars do not get the sport package suspension regardless of being e92 or not.
E92 xi suspension does not equal E92 i suspension. Realistically if you go with new struts and springs you are looking at ~$800 for the parts. More if you pay to have them installed. Coilovers are closer to $1500 for the parts. Both of these could be a little less if you find a used suspension setup. |

I've seen installation range ~$300. So add that to the cost. So ur already looking at 1100 to 1200 even with struts and springs. |

I turn my own wrenches, so it would have to be a pretty sweet install deal for me to not do it myself.
Looks like a 1k deal...I need to consider that if I make an offer on a Xi. |

Get a decent set of coilovers
I've seen some for $1000-ish and up. Don't forget alignment cost too, oh and you'll prolly buy some nice rims too shortly after...the list goes on and on.. For what it's worth the XI stock ride height sucks, looks and handling wise it's a world of difference |

XI does basically require lowering immediately after purchase. I have kw v1s but I bought the car with them installed.

Isn't it true that all E92 cars have the sports suspension?
If you don't need AWD, just get the i and you're done. |

Only reason I'm considering an Xi is to open up my selection a bit. There is a semi local Xi I may consider if they can negotiate a bit. Otherwise i have to go 200+ miles to find anything that meets my requirements (price and option wise). I'm willing to travel if needed. Xi does have its own advantages but not something I "need." |

I got some dinan springs on sale for 200 new and the rear sits perfect. Front is a teeny bit higher than I want so next is the supreme lowereing perches for XI for 200. They advertise .4-.6 inch drop. If done it will sit just like an "I" for 400 in parts. GL man
