One of my favorite trips to make is down to Florida. Our family had until recently made it a sort of tradition to go down there during winter and the last time we went, we made our destination Daytona, Florida.
And we didn't realize it beforehand, but they actually let you drive on the beach during certain hours, so, I made it a priority to take our Q5 out to play in the sand. This was where I wish I had my car to do a photoshoot, but it was memorable nonetheless. |

Trip was up PCH to San Francisco in my 328. Great road just have to say truckers suck and will make you want to rip your eyes out of their sockets.

Nice Thread. I need to drive my car from Tulsa, OK to LA for college, but I fear what will break down if I do. Too many issues have hit this car in the past two months. Probably gonna sell the car and grab an e30 for college.

Drove from Louisville to Seattle last summer with my sister in her Acura RSX... She had a summer internship at Boeing so I thought I'd help her out on the 40 hour drive lol. I'd post some pictures but every one that me have are of my sister and I at different national monuments, but I'm under 18 (come at me pedo's) and my sister wouldn't appreciate me posting pics of her haha. Oh and I flew back home. Much easier.
Also drove from Louisville to Boulder, CO (a little bit easier) last summer in 18 hours with my other older sister and dad to drop her off for summer school at CU in my dad's old e46 325i. No pics.. Absolutely boring drive haha. Nothing is in Kansas......... nothing. Last edited by GChase; 08-05-2012 at 09:40 PM.. |

Not worth it. 1,300 miles both ways, times 8 is 10k unnecessary miles (8 times there and back in 4 years at college).
That, plus whatever damages are taken to the car in consistent 100+degree heat driving all day long for 10k miles. I have to expect something to fail. Also, housing the car in a public parking garage for 4 years, I expect some not so pretty door dings, scratches, or even worst. I don't even know if I will use the car much in college, so after all that, it isn't worth it. I would expect at least 2-3k of value dropped in 4 years, 10k extra miles, and any damages. I'm sure more value dropped than that. I'll save the 3k, buy an e30 for 2k and have some fun. I've been dying for an e30 for awhile now anyways. I've als always wanted a turbo. Can you say turbo m20. That was the first time I fully worked that out in my head so sorry for the unnecessarily long post

I'm not posting a pic of my sister... I get enough abuse in person as it is
Here's some pics of our journey though. We stopped at the Battle of Little Bighorn.. My great-great-grandfather fought in it. Pretty cool. This is my dad btw. Midwest Plains Me in the space needle.. Taking advantage of free Sierra Papa rentals courtesy of Boeing... flying over Seattle Like I said, we weren't driving an e9x so I didn't include pics originally |
