Before the OP wastes money and ruins his car, please, that was sarcasm. lol. Also, drive the car for a bit and then get a tune. Three popular options: 1)Vishnu Procede (~$800) 2) Cobb Acessport (~$800) 3) JB4 (~$500) I suggest Procede, but i dont have first-hand experience with the others. Options 1 and 3 are piggybacks which are harder to install. Option 2 is just OBD2 flash-tune. All three have pro's and con's, including how in-depth the tune works, removability, power, smoothnesss, future upgrades, etc. Do some before you ask anything else. Please.... Im just trying to be nice here.....

OP, save yourself a lot of time and headaches and just go buy the COBB. As the bug gets to you and you feel the need to upgrade, then drop money on the other pieces of the puzzle after you do a lot of reading. At least you'll have one of the best flash tunes on the market today... Good luck.

The best thing you can do is lurk around on the forums for 1-2 months. That's what I did when I first got my car. I left it stock and just did tons of reading until I was familiar with all the terminology and lingo that's used in this platform. It has benefited me well and I have not made any poor mod purchase decisions.

Just FYI, this is inaccurate. The PROcede Rev3 costs $745, but the Rev2.5 SE is only $495. Functionally, they're similar. You can run the same maps and firmware on either one.
Eric, don't you have a 2.5SE?

I've had two 335's and my favorite mod/upgrade for each (and I've had many) has simply been an M or M-Sport steering wheel. I prefer the M wheel, but it's personal preference. It's a part you actually touch everyday and is a real upgrade over stock or sport. As far as all the other stuff, I agree that you're better off reading here for a while to get a feel for what mods might suit your particular needs and the direction you want to go with the car.

Don't do any mods right now.
Drive your car for a few hundred/thousand miles and go from there. When I first got my car, I drove it for a while and decided that I was not pleased with the suspension. I know most people put a tune on their car first because it offers the most noticeable power difference, but for me, the suspension was a priority. For you, it might be something else. Figure out what you want to improve upon and then ask specific questions. That is your best bet. |

FMIC upgrade and dont forget about GIAC tune. They have a hand held unit and two dealers in the suburbs. I used Cobb Stage II on my 135 and loved it. I'm gonna try the GIAC tune since dealer is only 5 mi from my house. JB4 if you want to add meth in the future.

I have purchased the following
Active autowerks BOV kit I am just going to upgrade the air filter for now. Still looking into sealed verse unsealed box or dual cone or And narrowed down my ECU upgrades to either a Cobb or the Procede v4 Going to add my exhaust in the spring along with downpipe still not sure about upgrading the oil cooler not really seeing anything on that yet And the intercooler maybe if I have a little left changing out the differential

the Rev2.5 is functionally very similar and can be had for about 495$. unless you plan on running meth and using NLS and other features at the same time, the Rev2.5 ($495) is the route i would go. yes, i use the Rev2.5 and absolutely love it! im just not sure how much longer the Rev2.5 will be available. thats why i stated the Rev3 price. For performance would suggest a tune first and then downpipes and you will be very happy. Down the road consider an LSD upgrade to ensure you are getting all that power to the ground. Leave your oil cooler stock and stock diverter valves.. For exterior get some nice wheels and lower the car a bit and enjoy!

Start with a Cobb. It's simple and it gives you a code reader and data right in your hand. There are 8 second GTR's using Cobb, that says a lot about the tune. Then get downpipes and an FMIC. Then you pretty much plateau until meth or bigger turbos.

You really dont need an oil cooler upgrade at all yet.
I can help with you deciding on a tune that fit's your needs as I've experienced all of them personally. The most popular charge pipe is the Evolution Racewerks, they have a handful of options that come down to personal preference. You may want to look into an intake and intercooler too down the road. If you have any questions I'm a PM away and familiar with the platform and quality parts available. |
