BMW wont cover interior

Ok so im not sure if im suppose to post it here but, here goes:

I just got a call from my stealership and they told me that my right grab door handle, the part inside the passenger seat to close the door, is out of the influence. To maybe understand this, this is why my car is there.

As im sure some fo you know, the interior in the 06 E90 models, not sure about others, tends to sometimes peel. For example, the steering wheel, or the drivers handle. Well i took it in for the right side and they just told me the above, and they wont be covering it. What i dont get is that its even a service bulletin and everything but they dont want to fix it?

Should i just take it to another stealership, or call BMWNA? My Sa is really a great guy, does as much as he can, but even he was pissed that they wouldnt authorize the fix.

Thank you on any input, and sorry for the rant, just warranty is almost over and for them first to say they probably wouldnt do it since its almost over, and then now this?

Try taking it to another dealership. These things are really dealership dependent. Some like to be @sses and deny coverage and say it is "normal" wear and tear.

It says right in the bulletin "Covered by the terms of the new vehicle limited warranty".

Wait so all you're trying to do is get the interior peeling fixed and covered by warranty?

Yeah, the passenger side, and the part to roll down the windows on the driver side.

I just had mine replaced this week

This was one of the items I had done under warranty this week.

The other was the sunroof and they replace the sunroof switch/module and now my homelink door opener buttons, digital compass, and the auto dimming no longer work on my mirror assbly!

Anyway on the Door Handle here is what that portion of my 4 page report shows.

On the work order it states:
Customer states passenger side front door handle peeling

Cause: Pass Front Door Handle/Clasp Peeling

5141517 DOOR HANDLE
882WFBE 0.02
1: 51-41-6-971-292 CLASP. INSIDE DOOR HANDLE (N/C)

R:51409941 (N/C)
FC:5141010100

PARTS: 0.00 LABOR; $0.00 OTHER: $0.00

33888 PASS FRONT DOOR HANDLE/CLASP PEELING NECESSARY TO REPLACE PASS FRONT DOOR HANDLE CLASP
************************************************** *

So YES if you are still in your original warranty or even slightly above it, I feel it should be replaced as good will since they know it is an issue with those door pulls/handles.

Wow I never would have expected them to fix that, even under warranty.

No Problem!
We all love our cars and we choose BMW, so it goes without saying we want them to be not only the ultimate driving machine in drivability, but also to be the best looking vehicles on the worlds roadways!

In order to do this BMW and their representatives (The Dealerships) need to make sure that any issue that is not due to neglect and is a well known and documented complaint by owners are taken care of.

In this economy "Level of Service" will determine where we all spend our next available $$$ no matter what business you may be in!

So far I have been very happy with BMWNA and Bert Smith and Fermen BMW here in the Tampa Bay area.

Going in Monday to get peeling door pull fixed

It's the driver's side pull. It's going to be done completely under warranty. They didn't even blink an eye, other than to ask if it was okay to wait a week for the parts to come in! This kind of service keeps bringing me back to this dealer. They have been tremendous on every turn since I drove it new off the lot.

Ok just got back a while ago from BMWRiverside, and the SA there, very nice lady, told me that the reason CrevierBMW didnt change it was because if theres any signs of an outside influence, such as use of Armor All or w.e., then its seens as a user caused problem. But when i told her that how is it that they changed thedriver side, but not the passenger side, and that it couldnt be the Armor all, cause I only use it on seats if anything, she said it just might of been them, but she thinks they will be able to most likely get it changed. Ill be getting a call later on with more details. Hopefully good ones. Cause i just noticed the rear ones are showing signs, and im never, or is anyone else ever back there. Unless midnight strole with the girlfriend....jk....jk...

Good Deal Bryan!

I see no real reason why they wouldn't make it right for you.

I do not use armour all on anything for years. I use Zaino Leather in a bottle! Awesome stuff!

Keep us posted brother.

Dude my SA made me the happiest person right now. They changed the driverside, window button area, and the right rear passenger( just noticed those yesterday), but their ordering the front right, and left rear. And best part, unlike crevier, she told me it wont matter if my miles go over warranty, they still will cover it!!! Lol dude i want to marry her!!!

My drivers side pull peeled and it was replaced about a year ago. Unfortunately the new one now needs to be replaced. The interior needs more refinement.
