Exclamation Alex and Company @ Alpine MSS **UPDATED**

***Updated for Accuracy***

First I would like to state Alex is a great guy and has helped with some issues I had with Alpine angel eye HID kit before has offered replacement bulbs. He used to pretty good about replying to emails/PMs.

I purchased a set of Alpine MSS HID Fog lights on June 13th, 2012. I finally was able to install the kit mid January 2013.

Pros: Seemed to be a quality kit, HID ballasts are not the slim ones, they are large which isn't a real big deal.

Cons:
1. The bulbs sent with the kit did not kit the fog housing, the tabs had to be trimmed down a bit to fit.

2. The first ballast would ignite but would then go out and throw an error on I-drive.

3. The second ballast would not ignite at all. I switched the ballasts to see if the error-check suppressor unit was faulty with no luck, I also used the second bulb in the kit with no success.


Correspondence
I emailed (Jan. 16th) Alex after installing the kit to let him know of the issues I was having with HID Fog kit as well as an explanation of troubleshooting steps. No response.

I waited til Feb 12th for a reply, and sent an additional email asking for help. No response.

I waited till March 4th to PM him on E90Post to ask for help. I also ordered a replacement set of bulbs for my Angel Eye HID kit (third set in less than 1.5 years). No response.

PM'd Robin@Alpine (3/8/13) for a status update on my order and also explained the trouble I had with my HID Fog light kit. No response.

PM'd Alex@Alpine (3/11/13) for a status update on my order and inquiry on my defectived HID fog kit. No response.

PM'd Jameson@Alpine (3/12/13) for a status update on my order and asked for assistance with my defective HID Fog light kit. No response.

Hopefully someone will contact me soon. I will update this review when/if anything happens.

3/18/13 - Still no tracking for HID angel bulbs order on 3/4/13, nor any feedback on defective HID fog light kit

His username is still active and green for sponsors. I'm at the point of just ripping the AE HID kit out and buying LED bulbs and going to high performance bulbs for their HID fog kit.

I exchanged some PMs with Alex on 3/20/13. He said he would ship out the bulbs I ordered as well as a replacement HID fog kit. I PMd him 3/25/13 to see if he had tracking numbers for me, haven't heard back yet. He mentioned that "end of last year till now has been really hard," hopefully everything is okay. I'm trying to be very patient with everything. I'll keep the thread updated.

4/1/13: Received bulbs via USPS late last week (Thursday). Still no word on the defective HID fog kit.

Hello , you are a lucky guy . Ordered 2 replacements bulbs on the 5th of february for a Kit ordered on december I still can't use because one of the bulbs had a problem during the installation ( one wire detached ).

Sent 3 emails, 4 PMs until today ... Got absolutely no answer.

This is incredible to treat customers like this.

I got the replacement bulbs in a few weeks ago. However, as I suspected, the ballast was bad. I am going to replace all the HID AE with LED and the fogs will go back to stock . Still no word on the defective Fogs, I just gave up.

Great... I wish I would have read these before I ordered over a week ago. No confirmation. no tracking, order still says processing. The number on the website is just a cell phone with a voicemail that hasn't been set up yet. Sound like some guy drop shipping out of his garage to me. Ill give it another week and just file a claim with my credit card company if I need to. Unwanted stress...SMH

Alex used to be fairly prompt with all that. I just gave up, the HID angel eye kit was hit or miss, needing repairs or replacement parts. The HID fogs never worked and never got a response after initial contact. I PM'd every rep Alpine has on E90Post and got one response back after months of trying. I gave up, went back to stock. I would recommend going through a different vendor otherwise you'll waste months waiting for nothing.
