Any reason that you want to upgrade?
Coding is required to move from frm1-->frm3.

I want to go from halogens to adaptive xenons. What type of coding is needed? I can use ncsexpert but I'm assuming its more complicated than that.

Its defo coding with ncs expert. Once you alter the VO with AHL coding then you can see Ahl modules.
You will also need to run additional wirings. Google it or check wiring diagrams on Ista d.

Does the frm need to be coded to the car? The coding for the headlights seems easy enough.

You need to save the VO to the frm and code the frm against that VO.
No need to change VIN as it does not effect anything.
Its is 5 minutes job.

Ok that sounds easy enough. I'm still looking for a good set of xenons, but I'll let you know when I find a set and get this off you.
