waterpump took the sh*ts last night

just last night i was driving home when the yellow overheating light appeared on the dash within a minute it turned red and reduced power. i quickly turned the next right and let the car roll into a safe parking spot. i knew immediately my car was in limpmode. i tried to turn it on and same problem. i waited 45 mins til i turned the car on and slowly drove home.

this morning when i woke up i was praying it wasnt my waterpump. when i went to the garage to start her up within seconds i heard the fan going full blast. i hooked in my laptop and the codes that came up were
2e81 and 2e82 (worst feeling ever) all night i was wishing i didnt see those codes and bamp what do you know. how do i determine if im in need of a thermostat aswell?

im out of warranty i bought the car at 92k bonestock since then done slight modifications sitting at 103k

Can anyone help me find a good price on a waterpump in the GTA and a reasonable mechanic that wont charge me as much a stealership. .. there goes my chargepipe/bov n meth kit

Hey,

Check the classified section, I just told another member to go to BMW Mississauga
$960+tx installed, pump, thermo stat, and labour. I dont think you will anything cheaper, its surprising that this low price is from dealership

Sorry guys.. I had this happen to me in the summer. I bought BMW parts and had my friend do it for me.
Even if you have hook ups like I do I still strongly suggest taking it to a BMW dealership.

For one it is not $2000.. It is roughy in the area of $1000 after tax.

BMW has a few items where they know are typical fixes and package parts and labour cheaper.. Such as water pump and thermostat change.. Brakes and rotors.. Etc..
I did some comparison between me buying it with hookups vs doing it at a dealership and the difference is minimal.

I was comparing to the town and country BMW wall for their prices... Vs a mechanic shop discount for the parts + labour

If you have questions feel free to ask me.

ya i know $2000 is a massive rip off... thats why its funny to see how the same dealership can give 2 different amounts.. they probably were trying to make me feel like very thankful for my CPO that i avoided such a large amount.

Damn guys....this worries me lol.

I'm at about 88k'ish and I don't think the water pump has yet to be done. I need start saving for this fix lol.

Does anyone have the part #'s of what's most recent and up to date for parts?
Or; has anyone tried an aftermarket solution as an upgrade? A better cooling solution wouldnt hurt on this car lol.
