Active Cruise Control

Does anybody know if the ACC will work in the following situation?

When you cruise control on the highway and the f*cker in front of you emergency brakes, does the ACC able to comprehend and slow down the clas effectively or will I still plow into him?

ACC will use at max 1/3 of the available braking power. If that is not sufficient because the driver in front of you is emergency braking it will sound an alarm and have a visual alarm in the instrument cluster reminding you to brake hard yourself.
If your already hard aslepp and the sound doesnīt wake you up, well itīs airbag time.

It works quite well, Iīve driven it in the E60 (The ACC, I didnīt have to try the airbags)

Yea, was driving downtown indianapolis once and a guy cuts me off on the interstate and then emergency breaks in the LEFT LANE! Guess he was trying to get a new car or something -- fortunately I didn't hit him.

Also note that the active is not too quick to adjust. So if you have it set to minimum following distance the someone jumps on their brakes hard you will have to intervene.
