Worth trading in my '06 325xi for a 335xi?

What's up guys I'm in a little bit of a tangle right now. I was originally looking to lease a new 428i but a friend of mine recently bought a used 335xi and it seems pretty great. I currently have an '06 325xi (e90 not e46) and I was wondering if it would be wise to trade it in for a CPO 335xi instead. If I'm looking at 2011+ models, how much money would I be spending? I'm afraid that buying used could have major problems but I'm not sure. What do you guys think? Thanks in advance.

I traded my 07 E90 328 in for a 11 E92 335xi with close to 25k miles on the clock. Had a few minor issues but it was all covered under warranty. Price wise I haggled my ass off and was able to get if for about $33k with taxes and everything. I traded in my 07 and again haggled my ass off so I got close to $10k for it. The car had close to 94k miles but was very well taken care off to the point the dealer was surprised that it was a 07. I then threw in another $6k and financed the rest.

Best thing to do is go to a dealer and look at a 335 you are just marginally interested in this way you can sort of see where you stand on the trade in and and wage out how many you can get the dealer to drop the price. Initially I was offered $8k for my car at the first dealer I went to so when I finally went for the car I wanted I told the dealer I was offered $9k and will not take anything less then that. Then I haggled it up a bit more.

Awesome advice thank you. So it looks like you paid around $24k?

$33k total
I got them down to roughly $30k or so without taxes and fees
trade it was like $10k
put down $6k
financed $17k

If you are looking for a 335 under 30k miles it will be in the $30k+ range.

Garage List
I purchased a 2009 335i xdrive cpo with 26,000 miles 2 years ago and a year and a half before that I purchased a cpo 2008 335xi coupe with 28000 miles for $31,000. I put 0 down for the 2009 and financed through BMW financial and my payment for 5 years at 2.9% (if I remember correctly) is roughly $640 per month. Awesome cars but hard to not want to modify. I have spent thousands on suspension, exterior, wheels, interior, and performance upgrades. The warranty is great but if you modify the car then going back to stock before getting service can be costly so most of the time I get the work done myself and eat the cost. (unless it is something catastrophic) Reliability of this car or any direct injected turbocharged BMW is most of the time not as reliable and needs more maintinence than othe naturally aspired BMWs. I love my car and after having 2 335xi's in a row I am still in love. Just a word of caution. If you love excellent handling, responsive cars the Xi in its stock form will leave allot to be desired and will require signifigant funds to get it to a level most driving enthusiasts would find acceptable. Best of luck.

I went from an e90 325i to my current 2011 335xi and I love it.
Definitely make the jump! The increase in hp/tq will bring a perpetual smile to your face.
My only suggestion is to go for a model with the sport package, in case you plan to do some ecu modifications down the road.

I'd go with the 428i.
