Comfort access assistance needed

How's it going guys so here's what's going on.
Bought my 09 m package 335i a couple months ago. Previous owner said the remote died and had no idea they ran on batteries. So he had a new one made at the dealer. It's is a comfort access key . But they didn't program the comfort access. I have to stick into the car to start it

Hey did give me the old "dead" key. I switched out the battery and the comfort access works perfectly with unlocking and locking the car. However it won't start the car.

What can I do to get one key working with comfort access?

but he should had two keys before he ordered third key ?
you should start your key with working key, stop, and after that , without opening driver remove working key and insert in slot second key, which works with CA but do not start
and after some time car should synchronize with seconda kay and you can start car with second key

Yes so he lost 1 of the originals. Do he had only 1. It then died so he had another one made. Making it a total of 2 keys.

Il give it a shot today and let u know if it works with the method you posted.

Buying a new Key / Keyless (originals) is synchronized only by putting it in the Key slot, if you have two new ones wait the sleep mode.
While a keyless in the keyslot, this deactivate the key less mode.

You also can deactivate the losted key by just using ISTA-D: here you will normally see 3 keys registred but only 2 identified (= 3 lines).
You can choose which is the one (first line) the second etc ...
Each one record personal adjustment (eg: electric seats-climat etc ..).
Maximum of registred keys allowed = 10.

You can have 10 registered keys, but only 2 may have comfort access. You may need to disable the missing key to ensure the spare is allowed to operate in CA mode.

simple if the new key was done by the dealer then go back and tell them it was not activated for comfort access, they will do it free of charge if there is a record of them getting that key. The story of the original owner not knowing keys are using battery is weird I think there is more to it
