3M Hood and Bumper Film

I am contemplating about putting on 3M film on my car. I thought it would save on chips and nicks. On the downside, wouldn't the film show signs of wearing after a while and look dull or scratched? What are your thoughts. Is this worth getting? Price would be around $500 installed for super gloss 3M.

are you getting it from the dealer? as long as its put on correctly it should last a long time. and wont cause damage to the paint if you decide to take it of in the future,

Not from the dealer. Apparently the dealer sub contracts it out. I was planning to get it from a graphics installer who specializes in this. He does Ferrari and other exotics.
