ummmm

With all the global warming and climate change debates mostly centred around CO2 emissions ,Having three kids etc I don't think i could justify it ,

Lovely car , I just think its wasted on our regular roads as round my way they are in a terrible state or unsuitable for a 500bhp monster.

BTW,I work for the Environment Agency .

No axe to grind but 12 mpg

I think anywhere around 40mpg is ok.I only do 4000 mls pa and m wife 3000 mls pa.

There will be, they are everywhere. Some say you are never more than 25 metres away from a scouser at any given time

Co2 emissions and climate change is bollocks. What cars emit is negligible compared to other sources. But conveniently sheps can be easily taxed using it as a cover story. I would have one in a heartbeat.

Surely deep down you would.

About £2600 @ £1.40/litre

Wouldn't call that hardly

This thread is probably the only place you will ever read the words C63 and economy right next to each other.

Yeah, 12.2mpg and the use of the word economy is a bit of an oxymoron.
Perhaps I should have titled the thread C63 thirst...

I am sure 700million cars don't make any real difference to co2 emissions .

We all have seen the more dramatic weather patterns across the globe , the climate is changing mostly due to co2 etc.

I can hand on heart say no thanks to a c63 amg merc

Porsche gt3 yes please

I've done 147 miles.

12.2 MPG.

That includes no real hooning, just pootling to and from work.
If your kids grow up and have to wear oxygen masks to bed because the air quality is so shit, it's my fault.

Sorry.
I for one applaud you and encourage you to keep it as long as possible. While there are people like you able to buy these cars they will continue to be made. People like you and Palmnuts mean that my three year old will still have decent car posters on his bedroom wall in a few years. What's the alternative? A G-Whiz with go faster stripes?

I have a whole different take on 'think of the children'.

I think that's a fair point. When I'm old (er) and (more) decreipt, I like to think my children will say "fair play to Dad, he drove a 335i 'cos he loved it, even though it wasn't frugal on petrol. It put a smile on his face."

Or, to put it another way, we're not going to save the planet by not enjoying ourselves a little, now are we?

That said, 12 mpg........eeeeeek!

Mike.

Now think of 7 billion people saying that.

[Yes, I know a large chunk of them aren't going to be in any position to drive a 335i, that's not the point]

I wonder how many out of the 7 billion are driving cars that only do 12mpg. I've never been a tree hugger but with a young child I'm now a little more environmentally aware.

If you can afford to run something like a C63 then go for it. Most of the people with these cars don't do huge mileage so are probably only doing the same if not less damage than Mr Mundano who does 3x or more mileage per year in a car with half the emissions.

I'm generally a miserable bastard but it puts a smile on my face when I see or hear a car like that. Sheps, I salute you.

7billion car users can all buy c63's if they stop drinking milk

http://www.infographicsshowcase.com/...-emissions.jpg

As i said, for the extremely small % of high co2 car users, it is insignificant what difference it makes. Why is it the UK is one of the smallest developed countries for car usage with a low average co2 rating yet pays one of the most expensive taxes on fuel.

Its convenient and i accept we produce a tiny fraction of our own oil so importing will cost more but still....

The planet will warm and cool regardless of what we do, it has since the beginning of time and all we have to go on is estimates on temp. That is also taking into account that there was a cooling after the industrial revolution post war, the complete opposite of what should have been expected when all the factories powered up.

I have no worries about the future. And as long as Sheps can afford to run his c63 he should entirely enjoy so, it is a complete animal of a car.

I don't drink milk, therefore I deserve a C63.

Admittedly MPG was one of the reasons that put me off going for that E63 AMG, I am sure that would have beat Sheps 12mpg!

But saying that I got chance to drive the new CLS 63 AMG (twin turbo V8 unit) in anger at Donnington Park last week...now that is one car I could live with in the low MPG league, utterly awesome power and masses of low end torque, that engine is truly a remarkable piece of engineering.
