2008 Montego Blue 1er restore - what chemicals to use?

I've purchased a few items for an upcoming diy buff job on my 08 Montego Blue 135.

So far I've bought:

Porter Cable 7424
6" Nanoskin Autoscrub
7 pad Chemical Guys hex logic buffing kit
5" Chemical Guys backing plate

All I need now is chemicals. I've read some good stuff on Megs 104/204 combo. Is that the way to go?

What about a final wax or protection? I've typically used Zaino but I want to try something else.

Is Optiguard the way to go? Or is there something I should put on with the buffer?

Spring is coming, time to do it!

7" pad is pretty big. I prefer ~5-6" myself but whatevs. The Megs 105/205 is pretty good. A lot of people also use Menzerna FG400/SG400. I use Megs UC/205 for most jobs. I typically use Klasse SG for sealant but I have used Opticoat as well but that's def more involved.

Sorry, misunderstood. There's 7 pads total, I believe 5.5 or 6" in size.

You use the 205 by itself? My car isn't that bad - nothing major to take out, just your typical swirls from 4 years of washing and drying.

205 is a finishing polish but it can be used on a variety of paint conditions. I use the UC for swirls/scratch removal.

I have a Porta cable and a Rupes Bigfoot 21. I got very good results with the Rupes. The Porta cable is going to take a few more hours to get the same results but do-able.

I would start with a orange foam pad and Menzerna FG400 for compounding
Follow with a White foam polishing pad and Menzerna SF4000
Follow with Wolfgangs Sealant let cure overnight
Follow a quality Carnuba wax like P21S 100%

The real work is the steps before wax or sealant. I've used Meg' 105/205 combo and much rather Menzerna's products. Remember wax is just protection to get a good finish the polishing step is critical.
