Not much other than cost. The OEM bumper has reflectors, this one does not (advantage JGMods bumper). Fitment is the only thing you have to worry about when buying aftermarket vs. OEM as they are both made out of the same material. As you can see, this fits great!

The tow hook cover is on now. The one that they supply fits fine I just hadn't had it painted yet.

I do not know the answer to your HID fog question.
umm i got oem mtech without the side reflector..

OP - looks great! I have always wanted to do this and your pics might push me over the edge!

to clarify - I have Stett CAI v1, did you have to do any cutting to ensure airflow in the lower driver's side fog light area to get to the intake?

did you have to do any cutting at all to ensure airflow?

I have AR secondary oil cooler behind kidney grills as well as AMS FMIC so I don't think there would be any issues there.

I should be able to use my existing fog lights with this bumper, correct?

sorry for all of the questions - thanks in advance!

Let me start off by saying that I have had a man crush on your car for a while now.

Nothing needed to be cut during the install. If you want to use the fog lights that are provided with the bumper, you are going to need to cut a square out of the plastic bracket on both sides in order to allow air flow to your intake filter and brake ducts / oil cooler.

I just left the fog lights and bracket uninstalled for now.

Your existing kidney's work with this bumper and air flow to your secondary oil cooler will not be an issue. Flow to the FMIC should be improved with the wider opening.

You will not be able to use your existing fogs unless you do a custom bracket as the shape of the lower outer grille area's are different than the OEM bumper.

I hope this helps!

Exactly which splitters did you test fit? This is great news!

I want get set of 335is ducts for the bumper, don't know if that can help air flow?

Because you said the fog will block the air flow.

I believe you will need to do some trimming as they are not a direct fit. Ideally, this is what I would want to do with the fog area.

If anyone could retrofit these into the Pre-LCI Mtech bumper I think they could make a few $$$.

What did you end up doing with the fog light situation? Did you install the 335is ducts?

I haven't done anything with them yet. As of now, the grille's are installed without fog lights.

A tow hook cover is provided with the bumper. I just forgot to take it to the body shop. The headlight washer covers that are provided with the bumper are good if you have headlight washers. If you do not, you will have to use your existing covers which are a bit loose/sloppy but they work.

As far as the air ducts go, I decided to go with the fog delete for now but keep the grilles. If you want to run fog lights, you will want to take a dremel to the area outlined in red in the below photo to allow air flow to your brake ducts / oil cooler.

So I was doing some reading as I sit here bored at work. If you recall from my previous post, I was concerned that the passenger side fog support was blocking air flow to the oil cooler.

I found a thread from 2009 that discussed this and found out that BMW has an OEM fog support that has an open area for air flow to the oil cooler. The part number is 51118043230 as seen on http://realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do?...51&fg=15&hl=34.

This can be ordered from Tischer for $4.91. I highly suggest that you order this if you have a factory oil cooler. Your other option is to take a dremel or razor blade and cut a hole in the fog support supplied by JGMods to allow air flow.

It is ok that the driver side is blocked off as the OEM ducts pulls air from the center opening for the brakes. Here is a picture of the passenger side opening with the OEM fog support. Hopefully this helps you guys out!

I don't think 328's run an oil cooler from the factory.

Didn't realize they had that part -huge find for those of you looking to upgrade to this bumper in the future.

However, you can absolutely cut the fog mount to allow for air flow. I had Long do this for me when they installed my bumper. There are actually specific part numbers for oil cooler and brake air ducts. See this. As it states there, most folks don't include these in their kits (why they are cheaper) and Long assures me that you can get plenty of cooling air by just cutting the fog mount, but I wanted to get the OEM ducts, which of course ment a little cutting to get them to fit. Either way, I've got the OEM Mtech air ducts, and the fog mounts are also cut, but the ones JStang just found are probably the best way to go. My $.02.

BTW, JStang, the bumper looks great! Pre-LCI Mtech FTW!

JStang, what model and year is your 3-series. did the Mtech bumper come will all the hardware needed to install. I heard from a few people when they buy the MTech front bumper they also need to buy the bumper support too. Did you need to get that seperately too or did they come with it or it not required. thanks in advance, very interested in buying one for myself.

Car is an 07 335i coupe. Everything was included for the install but you need to swap a few parts from your old bumper to the new one but it is very simple and straight forward. I did not get a bumper support. This was a direct bolt on replacement.
