Progman 29.01.01

Progman 29.01.01 is the newest version out for BMW 3 series.
What are the changes?

29.00.00, 29.00.01 and 29.01.01 all released this month. No Service Bulletin yet listing fixes, if any.

i just got my idrive updated, i don't know which version. But now the main menu has a silver background instead of that green background. is this progman V28?

Have you had a chance to really explore iDrive and see what the differences are? If so, can you list the changes? Just curious what the updates are as compared to mine. I'm not sure what version I'm running but it would be nice to get the newest version if it's worth the service call. Thanks

The climate settings goes up in increments of 1 now instead of 2.

Theres POI seraching now in the navi.

The results screen in navi is layed out differently.

I think the font on my dash display is bigger.

I use to have this whining sound when I idled, now that sound is gone.

The radio now recognizes most station names, and song titles.

The general layout of the navi, and entertainment section are different.

still don't know which version this is.

That change was made as of version 25.

Did you say POI searching?!!!... Does this mean you can finally just type in ex. "Best Buy" and it will find the nearest one?

I'm picking up my 335xi coupe in Munich on Tuesday... hope I get this last update.

Unless something drastic changed in v29, then sadly you still have to narrow it down through the different categories before being able to enter a search name.

I would be real interested in what this version brings. I have noticed (with recently updated V.27) that my volume for the music changes sporadically. My speed sensitive volume is all the way down. Soemtimes, not too long after startup, the volume will jump up for a few seconds, and then back down...

Apparently, 29 has had some issues. It was supposed to be released recently, but they pulled it back because of all the issues.

I would be interested to see what all it fixes...

Yeah, I'm hoping for drastic change. I have a Lexus/Toyota nav right now and I got used to all the features... but WHO CARES!!!! Car drives and handles horrible. I will get over it really quick....

I received this last month! My car was wrecked so the fixed it, and when I got it back I could search POI, the screen was silver, same stuff discussed above!

This is awesome!

.... but the dealerships should have this update available, unfortunately it's not available to customers yet (still a few kinks apparently need to be retrofitted)....

Yes, it is true!
I have to update my E90 Program and my dealer told me to wait because this program has issues. Now I am waiting for the 29.01.01, which is ok.

Yeh I recently went in for service and they updated my nav. Again, I am not sure which version. I know I had v.25 and this is def newer. Once feature I like and its probably really stupid. Is when you get in now the nav goes back to your last known screen. So it automatically will go to the entertainment section for me. Its stupid but I really like that now.
