I'm hoping to find a pic of it too. I contacted bavx to see if they could do the blackout only, since I already have lux h8's and wasn't interested in custom led angel eyes, but the price was a little steep for me without seeing an example of it first. I'm sure it'll look great though.. just can't pay the price lol.

Exactly, oss is somewhere in the neighborhood of 700 to 800 dollars for the full led angels and black out. I want to see some pictures first, even though i most prob are going to get them anyways. But i dont want a to much of a murdered look because monaco blue at night/shade look like pure black, plus the black grill, and black oss headlights so i dont know yet.

Not a fan, I'd go OSS without the blackout.

some iphone pic before i sold the car. btw these aren't OSS, i DIY it.

next to JB stock E92

dont get the full black out, it kills the bright of the OSS. swap the turn signal with white led imo the best combo for monaco blue.

Did you build your own rings, or are they Umnitza? Look whiter than most of the ones I've seen, which is nice.

How hard is getting the headlights open and resealing them? I keep hearing it's a nightmare and I'm terrified of screwing up and setting myself back a grand or so.

those are umnitza, i think its just the iphone pic that makes them too bright, the third pic is closest to real bright. if you are just worrying about opening and sealing, i can tell you it is only a 5 minutes job, (exclude the time in the oven), but you can definitely mess up with broken tab, cracked the headlight, and etc.
recently install a set for my friend, and it only takes me half a day (take off headlight, open, install ring, black out, seal back, and install back on car)

Is there a detailed step-by-step anywhere for opening them and installing the ring (I'd skip the blackout for now)? I'm really tempted to do it now, especially since some dust managed to build up on the inside of the headlight lens and I'd have a chance to clean them.

I saw an AW M3 but instead of blackout, they had the area normally blacked out painted a really light grey, it looked amazing. Would give it a darker look without being too black and dark

My pops has a monaco blue 135i, and being a fan of only non-metallic paint on 3-series (and 1-series now)... I think monaco blue is a fantastic color, but I'm not sure how it would look on a e9X.

I was hoping someone would post a picture, but I suppose I have to check back.

I like the black out.. maybe just a few passes with vht tint spray to make it grey. Or spray the chrome lens behind the plastic cover black chrome, aka reverse black out.

It gives the illusion that the car is wider.

Yeah its either AW or some really light grey but it kinda looks greyish in other pictures. I say have it painted a matte grey color for contrast but still giving it that aftermarket look.
