New Member - Long Time BMW Driver - Looking for e92
Hello Folks -
New member here - I wanted to introduce myself... I am a long time bimmer driver (since 1980) and member (same / similar nick) of mye28, bimmerfest and bimmerforums. I wanted to join e90post as I am starting to look for a 2006 - 2008 328i or 330i e92 coupe, preferring a manual, black on black or sand, or red on black or sand, with manual and low relative mileage (30-45k). I really like the e92 body style and have wanted a coup for quite some time. (Last Owned a 320 and 318i three series from 1980 and 1986). I am now reading through this forum to know the ins and outs of the e92. In the meantime would appreciate any known good links addressing maintenance / repair issues typical for these cars as mileage proceeds from 45k to 100k as well as any significant year / model differences from 2006 to 2008, any buying tips and issues to checkout before initial purchase. As each series production line has its issues, I want to be ahead of the curve (quoting the Joker) as I move towards the purchase of my next dream car. Thanks everyone in advance. David (Solo1) Winter Park, FL. PS. I currently own a 1987 535, bought new (now 156k miles), and a recently broadsided 1998 528i (acquired in 2006, added 2001 upgrades / 156k miles). Both cars religiously maintained with the help of knowledgeable forum members like this one and a view to drive them forever. Currently, I am considering options on what to do with the damaged 528i. Repairs are easily fixed and engine and interior are in near perfect condition with all issues addressed preventatively. Last edited by Solo1; 10-09-2011 at 11:29 AM.. |

David, welcome.
I guess I am not the only one that has the love for E28s' and E34s'. . Still prefer an E30 M3, but too much$$$$$ to purchase, repair and maintain. I am too, looking for an E92 either 335is or M3. Still can't find something clean and used. DOn't want to spend too much money on a new one. Take care. |

Just to help clear up your search, the E92 started production as an 07 model and there is only 335i and 328i, no 330i. Looks like we're in the same area. I went to fields BMW in Winter Park and they took pretty good care of me. Got a certified 07 328i coupe about a month ago and really am enjoying it. Good luck on your search! Also, try to find one with the sports package if you can. 328i's are suppose to be pretty solid cars and you can always get an inspection done by BMW to make sure everything is 100%

the 330i was only available in 2006 as a single year production e90 only (sedan).
e92 (coupe) production began as a 2007 Model Year and available as a 328i/335i My son has a 2007 328xi, has been a trouble free car. Have you tried the private sale ads on e90post http://www.e90post.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=96 Also, click on the following link for BMW North America, click on Certified Pre-Owned, click on model search and fill in the blanks. http://www.bmwusa.com/ Good luck
