To Russell at Zaino Australia

Dear Russell, I know you said that Zaino NA would not ship to australia so I could not compare the Zaino Ultimate Protection Show Car Kit - ZKIT-2 - Price:$116.95

to the australian kit for $295.00 inc GST as, Zaino in NA won't ship to Australia. Well there are a bunch of shipping companies that will, I happened to find one such company.

In hindsight the offer of $150 I made to you was a fair one, as it cost me just over AUD$155 delivered to my desk. This was a price that reflected a 30% markup on the retail price in NA (which I assume you would pay less!).

Pcock, it's all about getting that awesome feeling of being shafted when purchasing. You can't deny any vendor/businessmen that pleasure mate. Geez! Get with the program.

There are a bunch, do a google search for 'shopping in the USA'. they all have different plans and options, depending if its a one off or a continual thing.

There are basic one off mail forwarding services where you buy the item and use their address and then they forward and add 10% on the freight to buying sites for those who will not accept O/S credit cards. To full service tell them what you want and they will shop around and buy on your behalf and have it shipped.

You really need to look and decide which is best for you. I buy a bit from the states and get them to hold my stuff for a month or so, this way I get the best freight rates.

We use USAmail1 who mostly use DHL for aussie consignments.

They provide several options, like removing invoices, consolidating packages, and assigning your nominated value to a package. Saved us thousands, despite having to pay international courier fees! Things in the US are generally so much cheaper and this makes it simple when the retailer won't ship o/s.

www.usunlocked.com are quite good too. They offer US based address, credit cards, ip's and will also handle incoming calls regarding shipments.

Well as the wife and kiddies slept in this morning I thought about the box of cleaning products I recd yesterday (yes I know that is sad). So I got up and washed, dried, applied leather cleaner, applied leather protector, applied polish and I must say my initial impression is they supply a quality product.

The sad thing is he is a shit business man does he not realize the additional sales he would get if he sold at a reasonable price??? ATM he ain't gonna get a single sale from anyone here, when we all know you can get it for half price from the states

for USUNLOCKED, you register an account.

They give you a forwarding address with a suite number

Each time they receive mail/packages for you, they email you

Once you are happy with the number of items, they will quote you the shipping, send you a paypal link

Pay it, and they ship it.

Its actually quite cheap, same price as shipping it yourself from overseas.

I think they make the profit with the price difference between retail shipping cost and the discount they get from UPS.

Well I rec'd a response from Zaino australia, I am rather surprised they bothered and in order to be fair and open with all here is their response. I am going to leave this where it is and move on.

My name is Antonio Massari, Marketing Manager of AG Group Australia, the owner of Zaino Australia.

As Russell has mentioned to you in his correspondence, there are various factors that determine a retail price for a product.

1. Inland Freight (The Zaino warehouse is located south midland America. There for there is a cost to we absorb just to ship it to the ports)
2. From there we must ship, by sea to Australia, where port, duties and customs add an additional 25% to our landed costs.
3. Goods must be paid for in full on order, therefore in the 8 week time period from order to goods received a finance charge is added to the cost.
4. As we also have other resellers of the Zaino brand, and trade users we must set a Retail RRP to enable a reseller margin and also a trade discount.
5. We must also price the product at a Market price, comparable to what the product is worth in Australia not a market price for USA, otherwise such a quality product would be viewed as inferior, as we know it is not.

These factors all add up the process taken into consideration to set our pricing. We also offer with our products a real time reference and knowledge base to assist you in any issues you may encounter when using Zaino products, available 7 days a week in our local time, that is not available through many other online international sites.

I couldn't be arsed! I didn't realise there was a us/australian site to start with as I did a search and clicked on the first response and thought yeh for 120odd i'd give the kit a go and then realised thet wouldn't ship to australia. So I went back to the search results and clicked ont he australian and thought no fuck'n way will I pay double and thought i'd give the local chaps a chance and got the following response from them.

"We are not in business to take advantage of Australian customers, these are the basic economic realities we face on a daily.
I thank you for your interest in Zaino products, and understand the you believe the offer you made below is a fair one, however we are not in the business of Auctioning our products, and due to the explanation stated above you can also now see how your offer does not take into account many factors."

I never suggested that they should auction their products, I simply highlighted the fact the I could and would buy from the US site if they were not interested in offering their products at a reasonable price.

If I were Mr Massari, I'd be buying my Zaino from overseas too after speaking to pcock.

I get the costs, what I don't get is why things come quicker and easier from overseas half the time anyway.

Zaino is good, but not $295 good IMHO.
